Hi. I've got this really bad virus on my computer, and I can't really do anything about it. First, it would open a page on Internet Explorer. The address was always "ad.yieldmanager.com", and all it said on the page was "Not found." I did some AVG scans and I cleaned my cookies. That didn't help. Now, when I google search ways to help, it redirects me to a different site. I downloaded the program "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware", but when I installed it, I got error messages saying "Access Denied." I happen to have a friend who is a hacker, so I talked to him on MSN. He said to turn on my firewall and do a scan. That didn't help either. Can someone please help?

Ok ya you got maleware or a virus that like to play tricks. Im going to go with it was a trojan with malware hidden inside along with some other things.
So I take it your still have issues at this moment, youve done scans youve turned on your firewall and its still happening?
If it is preverting you from doing any scans or anything that will get rid of the virus You might have to do a DSR which is a destructive system restore, but this is a last resort.

Yes. And I can't install anti-malware programs.
What will a DSR do?

Full VISTA System Restore (Destructive) (http://www.thewinforums.com/threads/31419-Full-VISTA-System-Restore-(Destructive))
How to Do a Destructive Restore on Windows XP | eHow.com (http://www.ehow.com/how_4914805_do-destructive-restore-windows-xp.html)
You might want to take a look at this, but like i said this is a last resort if nothing else will work.
It seems like its heading that way since you are unable to stop the virus.
DSR will turn your computer into a paper weight, it wipe the hard drive clean and delete everything you have on your system.

Will it remove programs I've already installed?

everything will be removed, there will be nothing on your computer hard drive. You will have to reinstall windows.

I just found something new. I went to my accessories in all programs, and I found a program called "System Restore" that restores your computer back to a certain day. I know what day the problems started. Would this work?

Ya, I forgot about that forgive me. Yes that will work, whatever day it started go back atleast another week, hopefully this virus doesnt prevent you from doing this.

Go to start >> run >> type "MSCONFIG" without the quotes >>
And under the "startup" and "services" tabs, uncheck any program you don't recognize. This is how a lot of viruses start when you start your computer.
Otherwise if you're doing a system restore and it doesn't work or doesn't let you, login to safe mode and do it.
Doing a destructive restore is basically starting all over, it'll delete any viruses but you'll be set to step 1 of your computer experience.
Oh and...use something other than IE. FF and Chrome are good along with Safari and Opera.

I use chrome as my default browser, that's why it was out of the ordinary for the ads to open in IE.
I just finished my restore too, and everything's going great so far.
