Would you rather have a console for gaming or a PC for gaming?

It really depends. There are certain kinds of games I would rather play on PC, and others I'd like to play on console. I guess for right now, I'd say console just because my current computer sucks for gaming, but ideally, I'd want both :P

Right now, PC. Since I build my own stuff, I can customize it to fit any game out or coming out in the next year or so and it's helpful. Cheaper in the long run too.

I like console way more since I don't always wanna buy the needed graphical updates and other stuff my PC needs to run the game :/
With a console you are assured that it will run smoothly and you won't have too much lag in the single player OR multiplayer as long as you have a decent internet.

I think the only advantage PC gamers have is that they can mod games and stuff like that but that ain't that important :P

console definitely because
I have bad luck with computers
and a console like Hamada said the game is still going to run every time you play it
sometimes when I go and play the sims 2 or whatever the game freezes and thats annoying but hardly ever when I play my xbox 360 my xbox freezes in the middle of a game

That would be awesome but it might render consoles useless since PC is much cheaper in the long run because you can do more and upgrades are cheaper than buying a brand new console when one comes out.

I'm ... both. But I play more on the PC. Though I have a laptop so theres not all that nice "easy upgrading" for me lol. But my laptop is always with me
so whenever i get the gaming itch, it's like "open file hawhawhaw"
But I love contollers. only problem with consoles is.. I have to share ahaha, and the tv in my room is too old to use them on.

PC offers a much more wide variety of games. On top of that, an every-day person can make games instead of a big corporation without too much up-front money. Whiiiich. Brings more creativity to the games which ultimately makes them a lot more fun. It's kind of ironic. The way I see it, it seems the less the cost of the game the better it seems to get.

heres my take on it.... if you own a decent PC and dont mind learning the keyboard and mouse you will enjoy more competitive and higher end gaming.... if you own a console you will encounter a large pool of casual gamers and wont experience the higher end graphics and sounds as you would if you were to dump some money into a computer machine.... my favorite console is the wii currently.... best console for parties as it is easy to learn and everyone can enjoy.. you can get your competitive online on a pc.... PC is a single player work horse.... designed to encompass you in its large worlds and unparalleled gaming.....

It depends on what i'm playing. I like playing sim games (like rollercoaster tycoon, or sim city or whatever) and RTS and MMO games on the PC, but anything else i prefer consoles.

Idk how i feel about shooters. Some, like System Shock 2 were sweet on pc, but I'd rather play on a console. I think keyboards are awkward for shooters (or action games in general)

ROFLBRYCE

I prefer consoles, just because it's what all of my irl friends play on. But I like the PC too. Not so much for shooters like CoD or CS or Shadowrun or anything, but for the MMOs. WoW, and others I used to play often are still why I love computer gaming so much.

I think I can't make a final decision what is better.

With PC I can talk with friends and other gamers, can write messages fast and easy and can play some Games better.

But with Consol I can sit down, press Power and it works, I can play without any start-bugs or that crap. Maybe one or two updates but that's not the end of the world. Controller are very confortable, but it isn't bad with the PC (Mouse and that stuff) too.

I like both and I can't say, what is better. Some of my favorite PC-Producer are closed (Looking Glass Studios for example) and the rest of them are even today good or they are third-class game producer.

Would you rather have a console for gaming or a PC for gaming?

Console, specifically the Microsoft XBox 360.

This particular console has proven itself sufficient and competition-dominating within the last five-year span (btw, Xbox 360's fifth release-birthday is coming up Nov. 22 in the US, gather your friends and shot glasses and controllers).

I'm practically guaranteed a good experience every time I use the console, mainly when the games are made specifically for it.

PCs count on constant upgrading that can cost a large amount of money over a five-year span. The Xbox 360 has had its share of issues like the Red Circle of Death, but with a warranty and reliable consumer report, you're guaranteed another Xbox 360 within a week or two.

And that week, or those two weeks, is/are dreadful.

Its all good and I'm not a fanboy of anything.... Gaming is gaming.... no matter what you play it on. If I had the $ I would rock a box360/PS3 on a flat 52 inch AND a crossfire 5850 rig on a samsung 30 inch. As it stands, I'm only about $3000 short. LOL As it is I PC game because its much more polished on my $600 PC and upgrades prevent me from buying a cosole. The problem is I miss out on games like RDR that look so effin tempting....

PC!
Always been a PC man with a side order of console (360). I appreciate the superior graphics too much to like a console more than a PC - you just can't control the AA, AF, etc. on a console!

However, as some of you may know. The Xbox is a pretty damn powerful thing for a console - it has the potential to be easily as good as, or better, than the average PC. The problem is, correct me if I am wrong - I think the Xbox 360 has about 3 processing units (?) and they are all set to their own duties. If, like a PC, the Xbox was able to distribute the processing power in a more beneficial way, the next installment of the Xbox could easily threaten PC gaming in general! Even though, it's already predicted that consoles will teabag PCs in the near future.

I don't like it :( Although it would save the hassle of upgrading components! Just give me a proper mouse and keyboard for the console and I would be happy.

PC, PC, PC, PC, PC. I Build my own rigs, I know every part in them and I can fix the thing if something goes wrong. More over, as soon as games get more demanding I throw a bit of hardware at it and I immediately get better performance. Not to mention the killer detail that devs throw in specifically for the PC version of many games.

Havoc

Hehe... of course PC. I like to being able to smoothly go over from playing to working and back.
And there are certain games that are simply destined to be played on PCs with a mouse and keyboard, like virtually ANY strategy game and ANY FPS.
Strategy requires a few dozens of hotkeys and FPS... really.. you can't aim for shyt with a tiny stick.

Plus what would games be without modding?

And if I wanna play a Wii game or a PS2 game I just use an emulator, and ironically, thanks to enforced texture filtering and anti-aliasing those game look much better than on the original consoles xD. Or NDS game... really you can play on a screen-size that won't kill your eyes :3

Of course there are things that put you off, like very poor console ports for PC, or the pain of playing a hack and slash with the keyboard. But for that I have my trusty Xbox360 controller for windows :3

I deffinately preffer PC over console just cause it can do a whole lot more than a console.

A console I use exclusively for gaming, and when I'm not gaming it just sits there unused.

A PC is better to me cause even when you're not gaming, it is still a very useful tool in the daily life, matter of fact my computer is my work and my hobby.

I also feel a PC is more comfortable, and that consoles seem awkward and somewhat lacking in comfort, I guess I just like the keyboard/mouse control style.

This is why I like my gaming PC more than my X360. However, I don't find the controllers awkward as such, for I don't mind the pad for sports games and the like. But First Person Shooters will always be at home on the PC for me, until the next gen consoles come out with mouse and keyboard capabilities :P

When this happens, I predict a significant drop in gaming PC & peripheral sales

I'd say PC! And if you ask me why... I don't know. It reminds me of my childhood and I remember, sitting in front of my sh*tty PC and playing some ridiculously lame game felt so awesome that nothing can take me back to it, neither the top graphics and action and everything. PC, They're alot of things I like about both but IMO PC is superior, at least for now. I like the mods that come with PC gaming as opposed to playing on a console. I also enjoy playing many MMORPGS which isn't possible on a console at the moment. So basically I enjoy PC gaming because it isn't limited.

PC by far, you have so much more control of anything you want on the PC
