Things you do out of habit when you're bored?

I do math in my head while driving.
Anyone else do this? I don't want to feel alone...xD
I mean some habits and stuff are good..I've gotten good at math this way.

I eat.. unfortunately.. and how I don't weigh 600 lbs is honestly beyond me.
I weld.... mostly artistic stuff lately, seeing as how paying jobs are scarce these days.
I write... depending on my mood.

And of course.... I talk in IRC.

I DO do math in my head at times... usually calculations of the time it will take me to get to where I'm going... very precise calculations/estimations. (sometimes, when various challenges present themself, I'll launch into a little calculus)

And, listen, muffin - knowing where those four second yellows are downtown and being able to estimate how many seconds I've got until the light cycles based on where the crosswalk signal is IS SO USEFUL AND ANYONE WHO DOESN'T COUNT OUT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT CYCLES IS JUST WASTING TIME

*cough*, *ahem*, but what I do more often when I'm bored (when I'm not enroute to somewhere and shaving seconds at every corner, anyway) is check new threads on this forum, hop into the IRC, call Muffin, or think incredibly deeply about the fine complexities of people I know and the way we interact... carefully analyzing everything about myself and what it is about the way we interact that makes us happier and what presents challenges for us...

As social creatures, our social interaction fascinates me. In another life, I'll have to be a Sociology major, cause I sure wasted that opportunity on this one! On that vein (of college major,) sometimes I compose music in my head, too, and sometimes I even write it down on the spot (when I can)

Yesterday, for example, I was tormenting myself with deep analytical thought of how I can better get along with my good friend/best friend's girlfriend and even confronted her about it later in the day (our conversation went well although we still don't completely understand each other)

I like doing it a lot more in the winter time because during clear skies, you can see a lot more of the stars than what you could see in the summer time with the smog.

We have clear skies here all year.... and it's too cold for me to be out too long in the winter. :P

While walking to school or anywhere and if I dont have my mp3 player with me, I usually wonder how i would react if I met some of my idols. Like Quentin Tarantino. What I would say and do and etc.

At home, while bored, I eat :eek: Not Good At All.

AND at home, I might put up some music and dance.

Aaannnddd... I write ways to commit a perferct murder. Its fun to think about that.

I wish I could do math in my head while driving, you're rather skilled. I can't talk while i'm driving, I get easily distracted...

I waste the recycle paper from my work & use it to play waste paper basketball. like how many shots can be made in a row. my highest was 9. haha.

I generally day-dream. But then it gets really vivid... and I get to the point where i think it's real. And i have to start thinking about something a bit more normal.
Other than that i play games, come on these sites, read, draw or fall asleep. i'm talented at falling asleep at any point of the day

I do math in my English class. Doodle in my math class. I walk when home. When talking with my brother I wonder how much my family would miss him he had an " accident"

Im terrible at math but I used to try three digit multiplication out of boredom at my lumber mill job. Something about solving correctly while operating highly dangerous machinery was... fun.

What I do when Im bored is a mystery. Because I get bored doing the things I do to keep from getting bored and do new things. So to try and specify what I do would be like listing what I do on a monthly basis.

And I like to think about things non stop.

Right now I'm wondering if I wouldn't be really smart if I had any self control but find that I am the least self disciplined person I know.

Also sometime I make really lengthy posts on forums trying to slow down long enough to type the things I think about. The sex and marriage thread is a good example. But few people actually seem to come to conclusions on matters that large or feel the need to share their ideas.
