View Full Version : VLC Question
Dumb question but, is it possible to use VLC as a virtual disc drive? I heard some kid at school talking about how he torrented a PC game and was going to try to play the game using VLC....Possible?

I'm not sure if VLC has that ability. I know you can use a few other programs to do the same thing. I'll pull my laptop up in the morning and give you answer on that since it has a virtual disc drive mounted. Otherwise I suggest googling it.

that brings me to my next question, why cant you play a PC game on a MAC OS? Is it the fact that the MAC OS cant support it? Coding? that's what i never understood...

It's the coding. Each OS runs in a different way with different displays. Everything has to be tweaked to display right or run right with the OS. A Mac OS can support games, it just comprises such a small percent of computers that few games are made for it.

Uhh, I would guess coding issues on your second question, but I have a understanding that all games can be played on any OS.

Well, that makes a little sense, i knew it had to do something with the coding...i am pretty good with computers but that was the only thing that made no sense to me.....Thanks!

Linux and mac are different and it is possible to play windows games on linux but it's not easy. You have to set up quite a few things and run the game through another program for it to work.
