Alright guys I'm helping my friend.
He's looking for a nice city in England to go for Uni. except for London! XD

And most importantly, what is he/she studying? Because certain unis/cities are better for different subjects. I can also hit ya up with a uni cpmparisson site for all places in the uk (which can be reduced to just england), as well as guides and the like.
But yeah, what subject you want to study is the most important thing.

This is the link for uni stats. You tell it what course you're looking for, it shows where you can study it. You can then add in other search features and compare all the results - comparrison is based on world standing, student surveys and statistics. Definately give it a go if you need help deciding which one.

Coming from scotland, i know nothing about the uni's in england - but I do know the best art institutes in Scotland. (my friend chose to study art, so i know a bit from her). Pretty much, the top two over here are "the Edinburgh college of art" and "the Glasgow school of art". These aren't part of edinburgh or glasgow uni, they're universities that only do art... duh.

Other than that, i would reccommend searching the times or the guardian or the sunday newspaper or whatnot for guides on universities and the like. There are plenty of them.

I could rattle off a whole list tbh, but it's kinda tricky not knowing what your friend is looking for (beyond a course).
