PC maker Lenovo will be launching its own videogame console in China this November, according to a report from the China Daily.

The console, dubbed the Ebox, will use controller-less, motion-sensing technology similar to Microsoft's Xbox 360 Kinect camera. Earlier this year, a Lenovo spin-off firm, called Beijing eedoo Technology Ltd, was formed to develop and market the console

"We are the world's second company to produce a controller-free game console, behind only Microsoft," Beijing eedoo Technology president Jack Luo told the paper.

"Our product is designed for family entertainment. Ebox may not have exquisite game graphics, or extensive violence, but it can inspire family members to get off the couch and get some exercise."

The console is expected to be priced higher than Nintendo's Wii, but slightly lower than Microsoft's Xbox 360. The company is expecting to sell one million Ebox consoles annually after the first two to three years.

Around 30 free games will be included with the console and 16 unnamed videogame developers have reportedly signed contracts to develop games for the Ebox.

Though manufactured in China, the Xbox 360 is currently not permitted for sale in the country. Microsoft has been in talks with the Chinese government to allow the console to be sold, however.

It's currently unclear if the Ebox will go on sale outside of China.

Even if this comes to the USA I dont think I would get it.. I mean motion control can be fun for a little bit but would get old to me fast...

If I want to sweat doing something I'll go to the gym.... I play games to relax and moving around just to play a game isnt that much fun for me....

Ill stick to my chair and a controller.... The only reason why I would consider getting a Wii,Kinect, or PS Move is if I had a gurl/gurls over at my place So I could just watch them jump up and down..

Thats just me tho.....

Im not a fan of the design. If it is released to the USA you wont get my money Lenovo. Why would you release another console when Xbox and Playstation have already revolutionized the gaming world? I do not think kick off sales for this thing will be all that amazing...

You don't think other consoles should come out because we already have PS and XBOX? o.o There's no reason another console couldn't totally revolutionize the gaming world, and becoming dependent on behemoth companies like Sony and Microsoft inherently has its own problems. Not that I'm saying this is the console to do it - but it is possible.

But, if this DID get released in the US, and was just as good, and I in any way wanted a Kinect, then heck yes I would buy it. It's like buying store brand instead of the corporate brand. Just as good, same ingredients, but WAY CHEAPER.

Not that there is any evidence of its quality. Just sayin'.
