As many of you may know, I have plenty of other websites that I manage (GF being the only forum) and lately, I've been all "teachy" and stuff (meaning I feel like teaching) so I've made quite a few tutorials of C++ and the already shared computer building series.

Over the summer, I worked on a site called Easy Programming where I provide beginner tutorials for C++. They're all video tutorials. I didn't actually have the idea to make a site for it until about my 5th or 6th video when I thought it would be a good idea to just organize everything in one website because my youtube channel has plenty of other videos including gaming and birds...

The url is Easy Programming - C++ Tutorials for Beginners and More! EasyProgramming.net (http://www.easyprogramming.net)

I did design and code it, any comments would be appreciated. I don't have too much time to work on the design/coding again so if you think something needs to be changed, you can share but I probably won't be able to get to it until Christmas time when I have the time.

And the site is useful if you want to get minor experience in C++. They're all console apps and I plan on doing more in the near future and hopefully will jump to Windows Forms apps as well.

I also allow people to submit their own so if you want to share your own, feel free to send them to me through the site. So far I received only one submission but I'm looking to get around 5-6 before I set up pages for them.

Linux sure knows his stuff specially when it comes to PCs, Programming, & Astronomy. So with these 3 powers combined he makes simple, explainable, and easy to follow tutorials ! This convinces me he is an alien !

I need to use what you just said in my ads. And I might make an astronomy site over Christmas. It's the only thing I don't have right now, already have a computer and programming site (and gaming of course).

I wondered if you'd do anything with these vids, having watched one or two pop up over the Summer .. gl with it. The only thing I'd suggest having only briefly looked through the site is the inclusion of code snippets or samples as a download in support of your vids .. it might also allow you to expand a thought/approach that perhaps you either forgot to mention in your video, or didn't have time for.

I might submit a few things myself as I come from a development background, but we'll see.

I remember some C++ and visual back in high school... All the infinite loops, all the times i crashed the computer >.< all because i put the zero in the wrong place.

but I didnt know you had alot of experience with programming Linux. I guess we do learn new things everyday :P

The site came up after all my videos so that's why the site was never mentioned, it was mentioned in my very last video at the end I think and that's it.

And I didn't input the codes for everything because some of the examples I used, especially in my earlier videos, my programming professor uses as homework and text/quiz questions at school. I shared the video with him as a learning tool and he shares it with students that need help with some stuff like the loops and different statements. I didn't want people to just copy/paste everything from the site and use on their homework and stuff.

But in my later videos, I started doing general stuff to explain so I'm thinking about including those codes as a download while leaving the older videos alone. I launched the site about a week before classes started so it didn't leave me too much time for extra development.

Thanks though :) I'll definitely be doing that now, just have to find time to think about how I'm gonna do it and then do it.

Well someone programmed me so it's only fair I learn something.

I was learning C++ when I was 10-11 yrs old, but since I couldn't publish myself as well back then, I dropped it and picked up html/css and php which allowed me to open my sites. So it's not new for me or old since I didn't learn too much back then.

And I love the infinite loops. Never did anything bad enough to crash the computer though. I tried on some of the campus computers to test, but failed.

I'm taking a class on Java right now that goes about as far as your C++ tuts go on the site, but Java is a heaping steaming pile of **** :D

I also am not so skilled at/don't have the software to make videos but if you were interested I'd love to review/test/expand my knowledge by making videos for your site... but, again, it's Java x.x

Would you accept/be interested in tutorials in some other form besides video?

Your site looks nice, the information and content you include is informative and left me content (see what I did there.) If anything, I was saddened when I saw that the main body of text (the mid-text div layer) doesn't have any font defined for it, but that's no serious sin.

If I were to add to the graphic design at all, I'd have that same mid-text div layer have a background color that was a slightly darker gray than the rest of the background to further define the shape of the site and make clear where the content was. I'd probably also give its borders rounded edges (which would mean making straight up single color gray blob pictures for all the edges and corners or however else you wanted to achieve this XD) to match the other graphics already on the page.

That mid-text layer is the only place that looks at me and says "I'm lacking" in terms of the site design. Otherwise, it's all simple and I like it :D

Very cool! I'll have to take a look, I learned some html and basic CSS, always wanted to learn more ) :

(haha for a moment I was wondering why there was extra space beside the main body of text, opened the site in IE and found that it was for ads ;p silly me)

Anyways, all I can suggest is to change the font face to something clean (personal favourite is arial mmmmmmmmm.... ariall.....) and bold links instead of making them rollover blue.

Clean, simple, like it <:
only problem for me personally is that when there's no ads its just big wide open space. But that would be a fault of my own hawhaw.

I will say this though, with the ads on the contact page, the form sits under it and looks odd. (same thing on submit tutorial page)

OH and on Nazmus.com.. on the contact page if you click 'services' nothing happens.

SORRY FOR THE NITPICK LOL I'm just thorough? also I'm trying not to sleep today so I'm keeping myself busy with whatever I can get my hands on.

I know some java and only enough to get me through web stuff. Haven't learned it extensively but I might pick that up and set up different parts of the site. And right now I haven't thought about anything other than video tutorials but if you have something that's in depth and detailed in text then It shouldn't be a problem. Again, everything just comes down to timing on when I can make huge changes or additions to the site.

And thanks for the comments about the design. I generally don't like having different colored backgrounds for different parts of the site. I have done it before in my early years of web development, never liked it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

And I didn't define any fonts on purpose since it's not a sin. Have to be careful with that. But I don't know what you mean by giving the mid section rounded bordered edges. I'm not the best web designer but this was one of my better works ( I didn't design GF, lemon picked the lime green color of dark gf).

I didn't test the site in IE. All of my other designs were tested there but I don't even have IE active on any of my computers (seriously disabled on every computer and laptop in my house) so I didn't bother with it. But I checked it on Opera, Firefox, Safari, and a few Linux browsers. IE is always the odd one..

ANd what links are you talking about? The front page? I like that, I can probably change that soon by adding text strength. I don't know why I didn't think of it, all I had in my mind was "underline or no underline"

And the contact forms are probably issues with IE. I'm going to test the site on IE from a school computer or something next week and see if I can figure out. It's always small changes in coding that needs tweaking/adding.

And you lost me on the Nazmus.com thing. Are you talking about the navigation bar? Works fine for me. I remember testing the site on IE too and it's been there for over a year now.

And I like thorough. Thanks for the comments, always good getting opinions from other people's eyes other than my own.

Ah, the thing with IE was that I had adds blocked in Firefox, so it left a weird blank space where the ads should be lol. that's all.

And yuh, the links on the front page ;p

Yeah I only had the issue with the forms in IE, though Firefox doesn't have the ads, so it wouldn't be an issue there because all the text aligns to the left. A quick fix that I can think of would be to have the ads on the right of the text, perhaps. Unless there's no issue and its just my browsers being crazy ;p

Yeah the navigation bar, just on the 'Contact' page. I clicked 'Services' and nothing happened lol tried in both firefox and IE, same thing.

Ah thanks. I'll do the bold thing when I get the chance to edit the css.

And I'll look at the alignment thing when I view it with IE later on. It was a quick code job and I didn't have all the pages verified so I may have missed something. But I'll probably figure something out later (I generally just work on coding during long breaks).

As for the nav bar, it's weird. It works for me. I tried on Firefox and Opera just now. I'll test from an other computer later.

It still amazes me how the functionality of websites can vary from browser to browser, computer to computer.

Glad to help : D

The site now has 19 tutorials (working on a 20th one and hopefully will have it up some time this week. They're all my stuff...didn't get enough entries (or any more since the one) from others to start up a page for user submitted stuff.

And now I put the C++ codes up on the website as well under each video in every page. Partially due to Jango's suggestion and partially due to my Professors finally telling me they don't mind. I also received tons of messages through youtube and email to provide people with certain codes so I thought I'd just post it generally.

Just an update after about 2 months :)

Out of curiosity what all programming languages do you know linux?

HTML, CSS, C++, PHP, some PERL, some Java. I guess if you count Binary? That's kind of coding...

I know how to get around Linux systems...wouldn't call that programming through.

The first 4 I know a lot of, Perl I started to learn back when the forum was YaBB but stopped after we converted. And Java I've used plenty of on websites.
