Because it would cost one of the fat-cat shareholders one of his many holidays a year .. or deny his 18 year old girlfriend her foot enema sessions (or something equally futile) for the year .. or mean that he won't be able to send his troublesome (although actually normal) child to Brat Camp, and instead have to spend time with them .. or only make his Iron Lung from steel rather than import a more expensive metal from outer space ..

.. I could go on .. but you get the idea .. money.
