I bought this on blu-Ray . I would like for anyone who has seen it he movie to please post what you believe it is about . I will start with my description .

Donnie is a genius , he can see the future . He thinks he is crazy but he is not . He can not change the future he can only see it . Frank is a guy in a bunny suit . He can change the future . But he let's donnie do it for him . Donnie is having a hard time accepting his talent . He is slowly going crazy from the effects of his gift . actually that is about all I get out of the movie . I love the movie but I can not explain what it is about .

So please post your version of what this is about. Do not just copy and paste something from a movie sight .

Movie is about a kid who is insane somehow is saved by a fragment of his mind named frank who tells him he will die on this date at this time because somehow an airplane jet goes thru a worm hole and lands on his room.

But mainly he is on drugs 24/7 trying to get with a girl and enjoy what little time he has left.

Well just as a friendly debate , This is wrong if you have seen the directors cut the drugs he is taking are just sugar pills , frank is a real person . But this is the point of this thread to help each other understand the film better .

I view movies differently than others. Movies dont just have one meaning.

1+1=2

.5+.5+.5+.5 = 2

You see it one way hence the 1+1 and I see it another hence the .5 etc.

Oh I fully understand this , I just thought I would point out the over all flaw of your view . The movie can be explained in many ways . But the one thing that for sure is false of your view is that he is not on drugs . The pills he is taking is a sugar pill.

I still haven't seen this movie and I am ashamed, because I know I need to watch it D: I'm sure it's right up my alley and I need to go watch it and I may just try this weekend. If I do, I'll give my own thoughts, I suppose :P

I freakin LOVE Donnie Darko. Jake Jillian hall has to be one of the hottest little nerdy dudes EVER, and this movie is so funny and deep...but I erge you not to watch it while under the influence of any drugs... It will freak you out of your mind...so...no acid guys...

meh .. i think it's a cool film but sadly it also plays to my nerdy, philosophical side too .. which isn't largely interesting :)
