New DLC for Left 4 Dead Coming Next Week

Valve is pleased to announce today that a new downloadable content for Left 4 Dead 2 will be releasing next week for the Xbox 360 and PC.

The Sacrifice DLC will be available on October 5th for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. The DLC has been in development for both games and it’s finally coming out!

“The Sacrifice” is the prequel to “The Passing,” and takes place from the L4D Survivors’ perspective as they make their way South. In addition to advancing the story, “The Sacrifice” introduces a new style finale featuring “Sacrificial Gameplay” where players get to decide who will give their life so the others may live.

Please remember that the DLC for both games are separate.

Ummm Who still plays Left 4 Dead? Why wouldnt you be playing Left 4 Dead 2?

I play L4D from time to time when we can get enough people to get in a game. But it's rare now since most people moved onto L4D2.

So I'll most likely be playing this on L4D2 - along with the Sacrifice, L4D2 is getting it's own version of the No Mercy campaign which should be good. I can think of so many death charges already.

And the DLC if free if you own the game already...at least for the PC. Not sure about the box though.

I believe that's only when the game is new. I just checked my account, I have no passes to give out :( I remember giving some out for L4D almost 2 years ago.

If they give these passes out for this DLC, I'll definitely send you one.
