it is possible.. he took the entire image, laid text over it... viola... 1 minute sig with 2 layers... and totally cheating.

Well it's can be also 2 layers.

The background and the the render maybe sharing the same layer. And the text is a second layer.

but i dont think the background was part of the same image as the render, and doesn't it create a new layer everytime you put something into it?

for example, like my sig, I think there were 3 main layers. Maybe some filter layers as well, but I had the weird stuff goin on in the background as one layer, the image of dart as another layer, and i did stuff to those 2 using brushes and making parts transparent, then i added the text. I think i put a filter over the top to give it a consistant color tone too, but i dont remember. I made it like 4 years ago

He probably doesn't know what layers are... I mean. There must be at least 2 layers for the text, one for 'Because' and one for 'I am Rockstar' (bad spelling). Then, even if ripped, the render + background in the same layer will make 1 more layer. That makes 3. This only makes me think he ripped or he doesn't even know what a layer is.

Hmmm from my point of view, it show that the text are using the same blending option. So 1 layer ain't impossible.

But they are in different directions, that means there are 2 layers just with text.
The Lens flare is a separate layer.
The border is a separate layer.
The render is a separate layer.
The C4D's are a separate layer.

All together, the least amount of layers he can have is 7.
