Foot step

I got this a couple of days ago, and while they help locate the direction that shots are firing from I really expected to hear footsteps. I wanna tell when someone is running up behind me,what shall I do?

Look behind you occasionally? Most games have a way to approach in almost silence (sometimes in crouch) anyway. Beyond that check out the game/headphone options for boosting the default sound settings.
