1. Little young loudmouths who are 12 playing Black Ops and are rude and disrespectful...

And 2. One of my freakin' neighbors that have been hogging the washer and dryer all day. :( There are 10 apartments in my building and only one washer and one dryer. Royally pissing me off. Ugh!

Regarding #2, I completely feel your pain. Oh the joys of apartment living. The other day, I went out to check on my laundry and my crazy elderly neighbor shut off my dryer mid-cycle, and removed my wet clothing so she could use it!

There are 12 apartments in my building and 3 washers/3 dryers (one on each floor). But no, she couldn't move her lazy self up or down one floor to find an empty dryer. I can't even explain how infuriated I was!!

I live in an apartment too and there is about 10 apartments per floor for 20 floors and we only have about a dozen washers and a dozen dryers in the basement laundry. And I know some people don't hesitate to just stop the machine to take over. I can see how it can be annoying.

As for the 12 years olds playing blackops - I find them taking over Left 4 Dead 2 now. Since the price permanently dropped and they had that sale where the game was just $6...so many kids bought the game, it's not even fun cuz if they start losing, they start crying and then they leave and game goes back to lobby...

That makes me more angry than someone taking my laundry out of the washer/dryer.

Wow, I think I would of grabbed her stuff out of the washer/dryer, went to her apartment, knocked on the door, and dropped it on the floor in front of her and kindly walked away with a smile on my face.

But in all honesty, that is just plain rude. I would be pissed. Actually, I was so mad today, that I actually unplugged both the washer and dryer before grabbing my things, only to go to my parents house, down the street, and finish there. I know it wasn't the right thing to do, but hope it gets the point across that there are other people in the building too!

Agreed. I find more and more children (as most of us are adults here) are playing adult games. I wish someone would stop it or do something about it, but I know it's probably impossible.

I have a daughter on the way (due Christmas eve - there is something about me and holidays, but that's another story for another day if anyone ever wants to hear it), needless to say, what we see on a day to day basis in the gaming world, she won't be playing anything games with this maturity level like these little youngsters are.

My B. Sorry buddy. I am usually good about it. I just did it on the fly because the wife was yelling at me. :P

The temptation was certainly there. I wanted to throw a handful of sharpies in her dryer or kick all her clothes down the hall, but I suppressed the urge.

I would now like to add one to my list...

#3. Dumb end users who drop their laptops directly in front of my screen because their Office 2007 stopped working because their neighbor installed Office XP for them so they could use PowerPoint. However, had they just e-mailed me, I could of got them a LEGAL copy to install rather than hose their workstation for the weekend. /rant

#1 totally messes with me. I'm going to get the game, but my bud got it first and invited me over. I was raged by 13 year-old kids. I mean, I don't care if they play it if they play it right, but when they turn on the mics with all the rage-spamming, it's just weird.

Unfortunately, online gaming is slowly being overtaken by young people. If the law doesn't prevail, irresponsible mothers and fathers could be allowing their children to play games that involve issues unsuitable for that child to see or hear.

Shame on these parents for allowing their 12-year olds to...

*uncontrollably laughs*

man, I used to take gaming seriously until I realized that IT REALLY IS FOR KIDS. I still game, don't get me wrong, but I have to constantly remind myself, this is not something serious, it is totally fake, it is totally for kids. The M sticker that says something like 17+ only is basically just a way to psyche kids out and make them think that what they're doing is incredibly dangerous, risky, debonair even.

The law simply does nothing to prevail, so more and more children are gaining access to violent and serious games. Online game play, as long as it lacks video capabilities (IE. webcam chat during game-waiting lobbies), will always contain incredibly rude and disrespectful players. Again, nothing is being done to prevent this. It will always be part of the gaming industry, and therefore as an adult (or maybe you're almost an adult), you have to ask yourself: Am I going to want to enjoy this, which is made for children, until I'm in my 40's, or beyond that?

It's a sad, sad thing, because as gamers we want the gaming to never end, but we also would like for it to gradually grow with us, rather than apart from us. Unfortunately, nothing is being done to prevent the parting of gamers as they age into maturity.

Which is why Halo: Reach only lasted a month and a half for me. COD MW2 still stands strong. Zelda is a lost cause.

I remember being 12 yr old and getting in trouble for playing Mortal Kombat II (SEGA) with the blood on.
