...won't run. I bought the game over steam, and it's not working. It keeps saying that I need DirectX 8.0 or higher, even though I have DirectX 9.0.

Anyone know what could be going on?

And see if TF2 will run on your PC. it could be something else just masking itself as a DX problem.

OK, guess I'm going hunting for a graphics card, then... according to the site. Once I get that, I'll see what happens...
