VE - Video Editor

I have 2 problems.

1. When I record a video with FRAPS, it has awesome quality in HD, but the file size is really big. Is the anyway to make it smaller but keep the quality?

2. What video editor do you recommend? All I want is a simple one, like in RWJ (RayWilliamJohnson) Youtube videos. All he does is add text in the videos, still with the awesome quality.

-Thanks!

Welcome to digital media. It's a give-take situation.
Give more detail to the video, it takes up more space.
If you want it to take up less space, you have to compress it.
With compression comes loss of quality.
ALL HD will take up a ton of space. You can't escape that with HD. That's why HD movies have to use different disks rather than a simple CD or DVD.

It's what you have to decide.
Personally, I use .avi
Is it the best? Eh, it depends on who you ask. It's all up to the person.
However much space you want the video to take decides how detailed the quality of the video is.

Simpleness, Windows Movie Maker.

Awesomeness, Adobe Premiere. There is a demo on their site for it, you could use that. That's top of the line for non-professional consumers. But it costs a lot of money.

I've started using this new one that came with a Dazzle I bought. It's called Pinnacle Studio 12. It's actually pretty nice, I'd recommend it. I dunno how much the program itself is.
I got the video capture device called the Dazzle and this program for 50 bucks at Bestbuy. If you really want software, it's not too much money.

I use corel video studio. I've made certain videos using fraps that take up like 30 gigs of space but when video studio renders the videos, they kind of recreate it and keep it HD if it's already in hd and take up far less space. Maybe 2-3 gigs depending on the length of the video and any effects that may have been added.

A lot of people stand by Sony Vegas - it's very good, and you can do a lot with it. Personally I use Power Director simply because i don't rly need/want all the bells and whistles, and it makes a lot of things very easy - especially when you're lazy :p

I use Sony Vegas. It's relatively simple to learn, and it lets me do everything I need.. ( and more)

The one that ends with "pa"
eehehehehehehehheeeeeiknowimfunnehh. You got it? VE - pa.
at least Im havin supermuchfunwith this : DDDasd.

But video eritors. Adobe Premireoohohohooo been working with it about 4 years now, and I get sick even by thinkin about using Windows Movie Maker.

But like guys before me said, It could be your weapon of choise for youtube vids. Or something as simple as it is. For only adding text to youtubevids, Premire could be too much.

AND I must say that this whole message was written so I can say that VE - pa thingy. Sry.

Your best bet is Magix . It is a very good editor . Plus after you make your final render you can compress it to a mp4 format so it will still look very decent and be a much smaller file size .
