Crysis 2 Vs. Killzone 3

Not sure how many of you folks know about the two titles, but I will give a brief explanation on them.

Crysis 2 is the sequel to the original Crysis for the PC, and it is coming out on the 22nd of March 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3. The game is being developed by Crytek, who made the last Crysis game and the first Far Cry. The game is being published by EA. Crysis 2 is set in 2022 in the city of New York, where the cities population has been evacuated by an alien infestation. The original Crysis has received many awards regarding the graphics, and has been named the "Action Game of the Year 2007".

Killzone 3 is a upcoming PlayStation Exclusive game coming out on the 22nd of February 2011, and it continues the story from Killzone 2. The game is being developed by Guerrilla Games, and is published by Sony. The game will be implementing 3D technology, but of course you can still play it in normal HD. The game is set on the planet Helghan, and you fight as an ISA soldier against a number of different political factions that have been formed after the death of the Helghan dictator. Killzone 2 received multiple awards, including "Best PS3 Shooter" from IGN, "Best Competetive Shooter" & "Best Sound Design" from GameSpot. We should also mention it received a "Best Graphics Award" from the G-Phoria 2009 awards.

Now, as some of you might have noticed this thread is for the discussion on which of these two shooters will have the better graphical power. I am not a person that cares too much for graphics, but I am curious about these two upcoming games and how they will compare. If any of you have played the original Crysis on a good gaming computer then you will recall that it had superb graphics. Killzone 2 also had fantastic graphics on the PlayStation 3, and I very much enjoyed watching the scenery on my HDTV.

Both games will have Multiplayer (In fact, KZ3 is in BETA stage now). This is new for Crysis, seeing as the first one didn't have Multiplayer. However, I think that the Campaign modes will really shine when it comes to graphics because of all the set-pieces and cinematic's.

So, there you have it! I know it is a bit too early to make very accurate assumptions, but its still interesting to talk about it and hear peoples opinions.

Personally, I think that though both games will be graphically marvelous (Of course...) and will most likely be the best looking games of 2011, Killzone 3 will take the cake when it comes to the Console but Crysis 2 will be dominant on the PC. Killzone 3, being a PS3 exclusive, can focus a lot on the BluRay capabilities of the PS3, whereas Crysis 2 would have to balance it out so that the game can play on the Xbox's DVD discs.

Obviously though, if you have a very good gaming computer and a modern graphics card, Crysis 2 will work a charm. You cant beat a computer when it comes to graphics!

killzone looks like all the other game out there Crisis looks Jaw dropping . I would actually reserve that game ... That means a lot coming from me .

How does it look like a lot of other games? So far the only other FPS game that I know of that is set in the future is the new Ghost Recon. Gameplay is also pretty unique, especially when it comes to melee. The melee kills look so sweet, I cant wait to snap someone's neck sideways or to shove a knife into their eye.

Do you plan on getting either of the games? I have already started saving money for both of them, might even get the limited edition version of one of them (I know KZ3 limited edition comes with a Helghast Helmet, which is sweet).

Crysis looks so much more real .

The graphics in Killzone 3 look nothing like other game graphics, because they are much better. Play Killzone 2 and tell me how the graphics on that game look like the graphics of lets say MAG & Bad Company 2.

I've only seen the trailer, which wasn't anything special. I'm not liking the whole "DPRK invades USA" thing, it sounds a bit too much...

Still, I will see what the reception is for it when it comes out.
