fallout games get boring fast. I don't find them to be true RPG to be honest same with oblivion.fable is prty good but short. since you are just starting I recommend Sacred 2 Fallen Angel and Dragon Age.

Shixx pretty much rattled off the main ones lol. But it depends on what kind of RPG you're lookin for.

More open world style games with choices:
Oblivion, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fable 2+3

More linear and strategic games:
Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean, Final Fantasy 13

I highly Recommend Dragon Age. HIGHLY. Go for the complete one.

Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, Final Fantasy 13, Last Remnant, Eternal Sonata were all good.

Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia were my favorites though.

You should try Borderlands if you aren't looking for just Medieval-ish games. It's really fun and pretty hilarious. It's not very new either so you can pick it up for like $25.

I second all the shouts for Fable and Borderlands. Out of all mentioned above, Fable II, Fable III and Borderlands are the only RPGs I've played and liked on Xbox. I have played Fallout, but like it's been said already, it can get boring quite quickly because of it's very non-linear gameplay. I would say it's a very cult game, you have to be of a certain, patient gaming mentality to play it. I myself got bored after a few hours, just couldn't get into it, much like a book - it didn't grab me. Also, I'm a graphics snob and I wasn't too impressed with the presentation of Fallout.

I do want to play Dragon Age though, I may purchase it for the PC off Steam...
