dude I tried out that legend of Dragoon, its such a hard game. and Xenogears? I haven't heard of that, must be an import right? no U.S. release?
and I've completed FFVIII, but not 7. man... I think I'm gonna have to play 7 over winter break, don't know yet.

For real? Legend of Dragoon is so easy, you don't have to grind at all. Just make sure you can do the combos well.
and Xenogears does have an american release. It's $45 +shipping used on amazon

Supposedly Xenosaga is the spiritual successor. Xenogears is one of those games that i've always wanted to play because i've heard fantastic things, but never got the chance.
Final Fantasy 7 was great, but I think it's just a smidge overrated. Something about it I just can't place my finger on, but it's definitely a must-play. It's also incredibly easy though.

I agree on FF7 being overrated, but that doesn't diminish that it is a fun game. I think the others you listed, 8 and 9, are better. But everyone has their opinions :3 I still think 7 is wonderful to play.
I've always wanted to play Xenogears, too.
You are missing Chrono Cross. EPIC game. Probably my favorite game of all time. <3

Haha i was waiting for you to suggest it before I put it on. I haven't personally played 9, and idk how i feel about 7 vs 8. 7 had better characters, better soundtrack, better battle system, but the fact that everyone hyped it up so much makes it seem like...idk. like i was playing a well known story instead of getting involved in the story.
