So, following on from the Last Christmas I gave you my heart, and the very next day you gave it awayyyyyy .. - Gamers Forum (http://www.gamers-forum.com/showthread.php?t=17192) thread .. I thought I'd ask the question what are/were the WORST or MOST DISAPPOINTING presents you've got at Christmas?

There's a reason I'm asking .. and that reason is that I got into a chat about presents today and realised I had no idea what to get anyone, like at all. And I have a feeling I might fail this year ..

Anyways .. tell me your worst/most disappointing pressies .. oh .. and tell the whole story!!!!

Doesn't everyone have that sweater from an aunt or something that they hate? I have that....well had, I donated it to the Salvation army a while back.

But over the past 5-6 years, I usually just tell people what to get me (family) or I just buy myself the presents. And I'm not a materialistic person so I could go with nothing. (Maybe pay my internet bill? :)) - my dad offered to pay the cable and phone bills for me this year, so that'll do for me.

Last year my parents gave me a Dale Earnhart Jr. (NASCAR racer) Hat and I hate that guy, they let us open one on Christmas eve night and that was the one i opened

i think like the only time was one time it was for easter, and my mom was askin me what the new pokemon games were, and then shes like wait til u see what i got u, and i was like sweeet she got me the new game. and i opened it and it was somethin different so i was just kinda like wat. i felt really bad about my reaction, but i was really caught off guard...

Worst gift... hm..

I used to get apples, oranges, and canned food in my stocking when I was a kid...

as far as like.. wrapped presents... probably same scenario as Eps...

Guy I used to date made this huge deal about amping up what he got me, so I went WAY overboard on his gifts that year. ( I got him a PS2, which was the new one at the time, games, and a tv for his room to play it on ).... he bought me a $2 stuffed german shepard .... I still have it.. but my reaction was *wtf really!?!?!*

it's funny, I don't remember the bad gift stories as well as the good ones... tend to shrug it off after the initial "shock."

I know that I got a couple of those grandma sweaters in years past and I can't think of anything that would top them, so I'm gonna have to settle with that as my answer.

I have to agree with some others, I never really got a bad gift per say, but gifts that weren't my favorite was definitely socks. :P

Secret santa with school friends last year.
A big sparkly bag. With sparkly glitter things on top. Excitedly i yank out the sparkly things to reveal the presents;
a small bag of flour
jelly
angel delight
broth mix
raisin mix
smash
a dish scrubber
oreos
and some other things.

At the time, i thought it was hillarious. What an interesting/unusual gift. Later that night... i realised i didn't like that type of jelly, i hate angel delight, i don't like oreos, don't like smash, couldn't see me making a broth or a rasin cake. So... yeah.... the only useful things were the flour and the plate scrubber (which died after 3 weeks....)
