Ok, I spoke to my math professor again today telling him I was worried about my grade in the class and asked him if I could get a running total as of this moment. Well he gave it to me and I explained that Im bugging him so much because Ive failed the class once I refuse to do it again so the final is scaring me. Well out of 240 points at the current moment I have 209 which is a 87 Or B+ Not bad Im pretty happy with that...

Heres the kicker. going into the final right now If i bomb it I mean not even show up and taking it I drop from an 87 to a 61. WTF is wrong with this picture. That isnt a small margin of a grade loss that is pretty much a kick in the teeth right there.


If my numbers are correct, I can get like a minimum of 20-50% on the final and I should be fine, but I will talk to him on tuesday, again, and ask him what will be the total number of points for the entire semester and start running some numbers.

In the end, This is crap man, if I bomb it hard all my work and tutor sessions go down the crapper. So I am a little pissy.


Im mad about this, and its only a 3 chapter final which isnt harsh but still it sucks. Another issue I have is this. If i fail this class I cant take my math course I had planned for because in order to take this other math class, which I have to take a year of math to access a class that isnt math related WTFF, I have to pass the class im in right now.

I am most likely over thinking this but damn it its complete crap.

Woooow just reading this made me worrie but if you just stay focused and keep calm I'm sure you'll be fine don't look too much into the score numbers for the semester just stay foucused on the project in hand dude :)

Sounds normal to me o.o If you're doing so much to stay on top of it, and getting tutored and such, then you shouldn't have to worry, right?

I mean... if you drop to a D from basically "not taking the test"... that kind of makes sense, to me. Otherwise, you could just not take this test, and pass. Which would be silly. What are your chances of doing that badly if you've been doing so much to do well? o.O

I think you're worrying too much :) If you've got a B+, chances are you won't bomb the final.

Here's what you do....get questions right. If you get a 0% on a final exam, you're gonna have a rough time passing under any circumstances.

Really now. I thought that If I got questions wrong that would improve my chances of doing better. I did not know that answering them right makes my chances better.

well you stated the blatantly obvious too. If you don't show up and take the test at all, your grade will drop a lot. It's a final exam, not a homework assignment. Maybe that's a steep drop for 1 test but if you managed to get an 87 so far in the class, what's the problem? are you planning on taking dumb pills before the test? Just make sure you review beforehand, it can't be that hard if you got an 87ish in the rest of the course

you might as well complain about, idk..."if i don't fill up my gas tank before i drive somewhere, i won't have enough gas to get there and that's total crap"

Shouldnt drop alot, should only drop one letter grade, and seeing how its only worth one test grade not a major chuck it shouldnt drive as much as it does.
