Aye .. there was a similar set of spikes yesterday too. I've sorted most of the double-post issues today through the lag, and no infractions have been handed out - so don't worry on that score.

I'm sure Linux will look at it later on. Thanks for being patient in the meantime :)

I looked through the logs and there was a spike. But it seem to have cleared up.

I'll run some tests on the server later on when I have more time to see if it's something with the server or whether we're outgrowing the server (hopefully that's not the case).

The server had a bit of lag during our control panel upgrade. Runs every morning, sometimes it lags.

Have you experience any lag before this (but after my last post) though? I've been keeping an eye on things and even though it lagged at certain times, it was because things were running in the background (or I was working on the server).

No, it's been fine before this...

Do you run this server from home?

No I don't. I don't trust my ISP to keep the connection up. (I was without internet for 3 days in January, would have been really bad for the forum).

I do most of my work via ssh or the control panel. But updates for the server runs every night (well every morning technically) from 4-6AM. Sometimes if the updates are big, it takes several hours to download and install (I guess today was one of those days).

Ah, good call. :)

The GF Servers (Gaming ones) are hosted in my house though.

i've never experienced any noticeable slowness that wasn't on my own end

Most of the lag here is unnoticeable. Some people that are up early in the morning can experience it from time to time due to updates and stuff.

The server we're on is pretty good. But nothing is perfect (or perfectly lag free).

There's been a lot of cases where my posts have been double-posted this morning/afternoon (GMT), pages taking a while to load and in some cases pages returning an error message to me. Just letting you know :)
