I have been wondering for a while, which series is better?

I have never played either, aside from about 30 minutes of morrowind. Didn't get very far, but The Elder Scrolls series seems way better. roaming around a fantasy land full of knights and stuff or roaming around a wasteland full of.....idk

Mine would have to be the Elder Scrolls, due to it's depth in the story. i mean Fallout does have a plot, but its not too deep. The Elder Scrolls goes back thousands of years in its games history, while Fallout hardly goes back to present day, a few hundred years prior to the actual game dates, and even shorter in the first two. Even in the first elder Scrolls, they go back and tell earlier stories, before the game. This aside from the plots, but I also think that the earlier game of Fallout are way too hard for enjoyment, anyone agree?

The only reason they look so bad is because its supposed to, at least this is the way I look at it.

Think of where the game takes place, post-apocalyptic, its trashy, and dirty, which is what they give of in the game, I think haha.

It does have a lot of rendering issues, but they are fixed within a few seconds though.

Yeah, I mean I appreciate that the game's terrain is decimated, haha; however, as you mentioned, the rendering issue eats away at me and I'm bugged at some of the texture issues as well, as I said though, I'm really unfair on games as I'm a massive snob when it comes to graphics. You could say I'm highly critical to an epic proportion.

Haha, I can tell. though your faith may be restored in Skyrim. The graphics and physics are supposed to be phenomenal.

I heard this, I haven't played that franchise for a long time now. Although I don't want to play the old games because... Well yeah the graphics just make me sad :( Haha.

for the the Fallout series are the best I been playing Fallout really long now much longer Elder Scrolls, but I would still prefer Fallout. Elder Scrolls is also really a very good game to play and I do enjoy playing this game too:)

i think that the elder scrolls series is by far superior to fallout my reasons... weapons and armor are customizable(enchantments) which can make your character by far more powerful than what the armor or weapon normally did for you stats... the story line is actually followable where in fallout it kinda jumps around and does not explain things that could be useful to know... you can choose from 9 different races that have there own special abilities, weaknesses, and strengths. thats just my opinion though ^_^

Why thank you, I just don't really have nearly as much time as I used to. i will usually pop in from time to time.

I completely agree, these are my main reasons pretty much to favor Elder Scrolls over Fallout.

But considering fallout 3 and new Vegas are smaller games with a different skin covering an all to familiar character model and game engine, it just doesn't seem right to say its somehow "better" then what is essentially a similar game. Technically, there are fewer glitches in oblivion, more areas to explore, more content, more Independent quests, and more expansions to the core story. (unless you count new vegas as a spin off like NotN was for oblivion)

Also, as a whole the fallout series has a bad spotch where they made a top down action rpg for the ps2 (brootherhood of steel) that did very poorly.

While on the other hand, I have never liked elves and dwarfs. But at least in the elder scrolls I get to kill them.

I think I have answered this question and it remains the same, I feel that oblivion had more work put into it and is the better game, compared to fallout3/vegas. Though they are both great series.

Considering that Bethesda made only Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas and the earlier ones being by Black isle, i'm talking more about the newer ones.

They would be closer and easier to compare to the new elder scrolls, even the older ones at that.

Actually I did spend a lot of time on both but more so on oblivion. more diversity in play style I think. Or maybe Im just a sucker for dungeon crawling.

I doubt that they going to make a let down on this game, because there are many gamers that wants this game and can't wait for the game to come out, but then again there also were certain games that a person bought that was new that had a Let down which really sucked.

Lol true the only thing that happened to my CPU is that something was wrong with it that it reached 100 degrees and that damaged my CPU I don't know what happend either someone scratched in my pc to do things, but now my PC performs weaker which is really sad, but I am going to upgrade just not now I must still save lol:laugh1:, but I have faith in my PC it never let me down in a game so far8)
