Ok, serious question, are there any animated televisions where the character change clothes from episode to episode, or any variety in their clothing at all?
I mean really, it seems like every show I see, the characters are wearing the same clothes as they always wear.

Well it's just easier for them to keep the same clothes. I've seen shows where characters occasionally change clothing but only during events and stuff.
It's not like they have to do laundry.

Well they should, it must really smell in cartoon land then. And they need to stop being lazy and give them different clothes already haha.

It can take months to create an episode of a cartoon (although it's much faster now thanks to technology) so focusing on clothing takes away from everything else they can do.
I have created cartoons in the past (none any good), and changing what they look like is a pain. I'm no artist so that's probably why I had such a hard time, but I assume it's similar for cartoonists.

If you're changing the clothing of a character all of the time, you're taking away it's iconic look. It's ok for special occasions of course, like say Christmas, and it's all Christmafied and what not; in general, when you think of Mickey Mouse, you instantly paint a picture in your mind of him wearing red shorts, with two big buttons and braces over his shoulders! Also, his big yellow shoes!

In Phineas and Ferb, there are scene where Candace looks through her closet and all of her outfits are the same thing, and theres another one where the family goes to the mall and they all buy more outfits that are exactly the same and say "we have an established look" or something like that.

I see your point. Makes even more sense now.

episodic animated series tend to do it that way. Movie style anime tends to have more variety but still ends up reusing classic school and work cloths.
But then again anime also tends to have brightly colored hair and rarely features main characters of the same gender with the same hair color because they use that to make them immediately recognizable in different outfits.

Noot reeaalllyy.. well, except maybe Rin from Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne. I think she changed her clothes a few timez, but there's only six episodes, so it wasn't that many timez if she did. lol
