What do you guys think of it? I just finished reading and annotating it in its entirety and I have to say I like some of Obama's promises. He plans on giving education more funding, promoting alternative energy, reforming and simplifying the tax code, cutting taxes, fixing the insurance bill, cutting federal spending across the board, and reorganizing the departments, as well as bringing high-speed internet and rail to the whole country. Sounds like good stuff, though I think it's only likely that he'll uphold 25% of these promises. His address also promotes toleration and celebrates American success, and most importantly, avoids controversial partisan issues. All in all, a powerful speech with promising claims.

He always makes good speeches, but I have to catch up on the reading myself later.
Let's just hope Congress goes along with some of his plans because I already read somewhere that he told all of congress to go forward or to not go anywhere at all. (or something like that).

Hope that he can make those changes without massive complains from the republicans.

While I'm thinking about it, I'd like to point out how ridiculously often Obama used lists of three. My count is probably off, but I found 20. That's approximately one for every twenty sentences. A little crazy, I think.

I highly doubt more than half of those, no, like leica said, a quarter will actually happen. And he says he won't sign any bill with earmarks, I call bull. everyone says there not, but they do.
Of course it'd be nice, but we all know he won't be here long enough to do any of it really. No way he'll make it to his second term.
