So I'm sure some if not all of you have heard about the protest in Tunisia, which resulted in them having a new government.

A chain reaction was the result, with Yemen starting to protest and Egypt having already started HUGE protests. Jordan is set to join this wave of "revolution" too.

Egypt is the only one I've really heard about, mostly since their cutting off all Internet and mobile communications.

They definitely need some kind of foreign intervention there, but I really hope it doesn't end up being the US; we've spent enough money already trying to fix the Middle East and I'd be pissed to see the national debt go up any further.

Something definitely needs to be done though; these countries lack basic civil rights that we've had (for the most part) in the Western world for centuries. Many kudos to the organizations (including Anonymous, those otherwise-douchebags) who are helping to enable communications to and from Egypt.

I've read about the Tunisia and Egypt scenes, first time hearing about Yemen or Jordan though.

Hopefully things settle down.

I can't believe you haven't heard of Tunisia, well it all happened pretty fast there, within 3-4 days I think.

It's kind of weird though that the countries in which this is happening are pretty close to the US. (government wise)

CAIRO – Egyptian security officials say at least 62 people have been killed nationwide over the last two days of mass anti-government protests.

The officials say an additional 2,000 people have been injured in the demonstrations, that have included violent clashes between police and protesters.

They said Saturday the figures include injuries and deaths of both protesters and security forces.

They don't stop this because it's the right thing to do! The current Egyptian president is a corrupt tyrant. I really envy these people that are fighting and dying for their freedom. It will be over soon!

If they all had the WW2 Russian Commander approach, they could all just run at the bastards and take the victory! Win for the civilians!

Im beginning to understand why Pakistanis are so disliked in England.

These protests are in extremely poor taste.

If you want to protest the war .. do it right .. blame the media and politicians ... not the foot soldiers.

Last thing I heard was the president's cabinet left him so he is all alone and if that i true im pretty sure sooner or later he will give up and the government will fall.

Protest what war ? They're protesting because the Egyptian govt. takes all the money for itself, there is inflation, MANY MANY people don't have jobs but the govt. doesn't really care. Their current "President" has been in office for 30 years, and his son was supposed to be next. Does that sounds like a president to you? Don't think so....
They're not blaming any soldiers, the police have killed many protesters, they switched from rubber bullets to real ammunition. After 2 days, there was no way for the police to control the situation, now there is no more police and the Army moved in, welcomed by the people. The Army is kind of on the side of the people, they just make sure that no one is hurt, so nobody is blaming the foot soldiers :S

And Joker, the president sacked/fired some of his govt. officials hoping this would please the protesters. But they want to see the whole govt. gone, mainly him.

We were discussing this in class today we were talking about how this is a small move away from a **** storm where america would have to come in and create even more hatred than what is already there, apparently, by the Egyptian people. Also it was discussed since the army is on the side of the people the generals could fight for power and become the next president if they play their cards right. Kinda seems like even if they do win against this fail government someone worse will take over and just make it 10x worse.

When/if they take out the president who will take over and what type of government will be created?
