Hey guys

I'm having a problem with my skype :(
Whenever I skype with my friend and we want to share screens, his works. Then I try to do the same but it just gives me a blue screen with my browser open. It says "user can now see screen" but he can't see it :S
Any of you guys know how this can be fixed ? :(

Thanks a lot guys!

I'm not a skype guy, but what's share screen? a remote desktop viewer?

If it is that, there's probably something wrong with the software itself. Just to make sure, you can download another (free) software to test it out to know for sure whether it's skype or your computer that's the problem.

Try TeamViewer if you're having trouble :3

I dunno what Skype is doing, but TeamViewer is a great application for screen sharing to test out if that might be the issue. And it's free :3

Are you trying to show screen shots, or actually show what you're doing on the screen? If it's the former, all you gotta do is print screen and paste. If it's the latter, it's working as it should be.

How is it working as it should be if his friend can't see his screen?

I.. really need to stop reading things so fast. I guess.. you should probably look at what the source of what it's trying to broadcast from.

I'll second teamviewer. I use it all the time to help people diagnose stuff remotely.

Aye, Temviewer is good. I've never had problems with Skype personally but if skype doesn't work, definitely try Teamviewer.

If you want to try to get Skype to work it could be some kind of conflict with your Cam/webcam drivers try changing the skype Cam default or something.

+1 for teamviewer!

Skype's built-in screen sharing is an "added-on" feature to what was really initially a VoIP client... it's no surprise that it's a little buggy here and there and doesn't work on 100% of systems (I've had trouble with Skype's screen sharing on various machines in the past, too.)

You could try re-installing Skype and/or scouring through Skype's settings to try and catch the snag but tbh if I were in your position I'd just be convincing my friend to download Teamviewer so we could use that instead.

Same goes for Skype's trial "group video..."

Tried using it around Christmas and it was a terrible piece of crap, when other things (like tinychat) do it just fine @___@

Use Gomeetnow free audio conferencing and desktop screen sharing service.
