I have 3 computers which I can use for gaming and confused on which to use for the best gaming experience. Their pretty much average computers but I'm stuck with them temporarily. Here are the specs:

PC1
Intel Pentium 4,
CPU 2.66 GHz
RAM: 1.24 GB
Graphics: Intel 82865G Graphics Controller
Size: 96 MB

PC2
Intel Pentium 4,
CPU 3 GHZ
RAM: 896 MB
Graphics: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series.
Size: 128 MB

PC3 (Laptop)
Intel Core 2 Duo,
CPU 1.20 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset family
Size: 358

What are your thoughts?

Try the Laptop out the Laptop should be faster than you other PC's since it has a more advanced CPU and nice amout of RAM for your games to play much better.:cheesy:

tbh, none of them. They're all old and weak. The laptop is the only one with a decent cpu and decent amount of memory, and even that's weak. And I generally don't advise people to game on laptops unless they have very good cooling.

The only one that is good enough for better games is the laptop, It got a better cpu and so on.

Yeah I totally agree there with LinuX and in the end you won't be able to play the awesome games that are now out on any of your systems that you have there. So it is like best to upgrade so that you can have fun in games and enjoy yourself in them.:D

Thank you guys for the reply's. Well, If I want to play I'll use the laptop.
One more thing. I have around 500 bucks and getting confused on whether to buy a new PC system or a PS3. What are your thoughts?
I mostly like sports and FPS games such as medal of honour, call of duty and battlefield....
I have this experience that playing FPS games on computer is better. You have better control of the player.
What do you think about this?

Having experienced both console and PC gaming for FPS, I would say PC is better for FPS as yes, you do have more control over your player, the accuracy is way better.
However, sports games... Console all the way. I have my PC for FPS games, etc for the accuracy and better control of the player, also for better graphics ;) and I have my console (360) for my sports games :)

Regarding my FPS opinions, it totally depends on what you feel comfortable with and what feels natural to you. I was brought up on PC FPS gaming, so my opinion is always going to lean towards the keyboard and mouse aspect.

You won't be able to get a good gaming PC for $500 unless you either have it built OR you find it on sale somewhere. But I agree with Jay that PC is definitely better (but it is an opinion).

perhaps he could combine the two desktops into one passable computer until he builds a gaming computer?

And if you build it up slowly over time just start with what you lack the most right now and use it in your current computer.

Ok update you PC 2 that one might help. see what type of Motherboard you have and what socket it supports. Buy you a New CPU and a motherboard that supports that CPU's Frontside Bus like 667/800/1066/1333 and that should help you. Make sure that the Motherboards Frontside bus is similar to your CPU, because then it works more effectively and you going to have to buy RAM also. If you Upgrade your graphics card that would also give you a nice boost in your games that you want to play:)

Hey, so you mean I should tranfer the RAM of PC1 to 2 and have like a graphics card upgrade? in the short run that is...
hey Raoul, for which PC should I buy a new motherboard?

Thanks

You can buy it for any PC because you can take your PC apart also to upgrade it. Use PC 2 rather out the Ram in tha one, but when you buy a new MB then you must also make sure that the MB supports your RAM like the most Common RAM that I noticed people buying is DDR 2 RAM 667/800. Now I am using DDR 2 RAM 800 and so far it's really helping me alot. so for safety always make sure that the MB you buy supports your RAM or buy DDR 2 RAM it will help for the games:)

He might be able to combine the ram but his graphics and cpu will have to remain one or the other (assuming both GPU's aren't onboard one, although the intel one looks like it could).

And everything is old, imo, it's not worth upgrading something that old because it would end up costing you a lot more because you would have to upgrade everything including the motherboard.

Thanks very much guys for trying to help me. I'm going to go outside and check the prices here for a slightly above average computer system and a playstation 3. Going to compare the prices and make a decision according. But something is always pulling me to the PC because I only enjoy Football games and games such like call of duty. I think that a PC would give me better control over game overall.

Thank you again for everything,
take care

Definitely not seeing any buy here that would be worth your while

tbh in your case I'd bite the bullet and get a ps3, then you can work to saving up enough money for a good gaming computer (desktooppppppp haw)

The laptop is prob the best setup you have there but i still agree with linux that none are any good for what you want. Ive got a laptop with the same processor but im running 2.5ghz with 4gb ram and a brand new top range graphics card and its still not fit for gaming properly. id invest that 500 bucks in one of your desktops and upgrade the system.
