So a friend of mine keeps putting these links on facebook (most recent one being Tell Congress: Dont Outlaw Skype | Demand Progress (http://act.demandprogress.org/act/calea/?referring_akid=283.85304.jvQncn&source=typ-fb))

Anyone else heard of this website/know if these things are legitimate? They have a bunch of campaigns, and apparently one of the guys co-founded Reddit. Know if this actually does anything? It's interesting, in any case.

Here are all their campaigns: Campaigns | Demand Progress (http://demandprogress.org/campaigns)

I don't really know much about them; anyone else got some information?

I read something about it yesterday. The government basically wants to make it so that programs like Skype and other internet communication programs are easily wiretappable and completely legal for them to do it whenever they feel the need.

I can sort of understand why they feel they need to, as I guess they ended up losing part of a cartel they were tracking due to it at some point, but at the same time it's like.. really?
