Dragon Age 2 is almost here and developers Bioware are extremely 'proud' of their title, stating that only does it redefine the series, but the RPG genre as a whole. (http://train2game.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/bioware-proud-of-dragon-age-2/)

Is it going to be a huge leap forward? What are you expecting when you buy it?

(Unfortunately I don't have the funds to purchase it myself right now :( )

I'm excited to see a sequel to the first game, however after playing the demo I'm not sure I would go as far to say it will redefine rpgs.

I played the Demo for DA2, after having never played the predecessors for a decent amount of time.. So from my point of view, it looked pretty damn cool. I had all my graphics on Full, and it looked quite nice. I liked the combat for the game, it didn't feel too clunky and the general controls seemed fine!

However, I doubt I will be buying it, as I've never been interested in the other released for the franchise, so I don't think I will bother now.

I bought it.... and I'm a fan.. BUT

I bought the 360 version.. and I'm regretting it.

I had the original one on PC and now I'm wishing I had gone the same route with this one.

I don't like the name "dragon age: origins" cuz now its dragon age 2. I wish it was like Dragon Age: Something else. Or the first one Dragon Age, now Dragon Age 2. /random

Interesting viewpoints. Dragon Age 2 on the 360 though? For shame ;)

I might get this. I really enjoyed Dragon Age 1, but i'm not too keen on that storytelling aspect that I heard about, where its from the perspective of somebody telling somebody what happens.

See I quite like the idea of this aspect of the game Design. The dwarf apparently tells quite a lot of fibs which make Hawke seem much more powerful than he is...but then this is played out in the game in some purposefully outlandish scenes. Or so I've read.

Here's the link, the concept is called a framed narrative. (http://train2game.wordpress.com/2011/02/22/an-interesting-read-for-train2game-students-biowares-mike-laidlaw-on-game-design/)

I dont think that the dwarfs lies make HAWKE more powerful, I would rather think hes making himself more powerful;)

The narrative within a narrative is often used in films, why not in games too?
