Allright, this thread is rather old but Tribes Ascend have been out with their "closed" beta for quite some time now and all you got to do to get a key is to like their FB page and click get closed beta key.

I do really suggest you try this game out, it's great fun. :)

Well the movie shows it after he's talked about the game for awhile.

But to answer you: Its a Multiplayer FPS, Fast paced and heavily skill based. Sci-fi themed.

Im also playing the "demo". You can pay for xp boosters and stuff so its kind of odd to call it a beta at this point. Its more a soft release. Not the first game to do that though, Dragon nest did the same thing, well with the US version at least.

I'm really loving the game. I lag sometimes but I'm pretty awesome at it. Although it annoys me that people who play more or pay have better weapons (soldiers with the spinfusor)

The spinfusor isnt that expensive. :) Besides, anything you can unlock with money you can unlock by playing aswell. :)

I get an average of 500 XP per game so I'd have to play a lot to unlock the spinfusor. I love playing the Juggernaut. I make some pretty amazing shots with the mortar launcher

I have no clue about tribes lore but the game looks awesome, like Halo and TF2 had a baby and that baby married Section 8: Prejudice and that baby got a space marine pregnant

Then that baby decided you should be moving really really fast and rapes my processor, thus disabling my combat abilities

I would play but you'd have to leave flag grabbing to me. I am great at flag grabbing and destroying/defending the generator. I just can't fight in the open

Pretty good at flag grabbing myself, but since i can also fight in the open i would gladly cover you instead if you wanna be the flag capper. :) My record for blue plate specials are 5 in one match (Hitting someone in the air with spinfusor).
