Transformers MMO has been announced! This announcement makes me go "HELL YEAH!" and "Oh dear.." all at the same time.
It's a really risky project, as it has a lot of potential to be a fail; hopefully Hasbro and the developers of Runescape can make it into an epic game! :)
I do think that they have to aim high with this game, considering how enormous the Transformers franchise is. They also have to deal with the fact that most MMO gamers compare the new games to World of Warcraft, which inevitably, is a harsh thing to do.
I really do hope that they base this game on the old 80s cartoon series, and not the awful, modern-day cartoons and the god awful movies. I dislike the movies, just because they changed the transformers too much, to the point where most of them are unrecognisable. Megatron is a ****ing cannon when he transforms, not a ****ing plane! Get a grip! >:[
Information/Rant Bulletin over. :)

I can't..imagine... oh... my...
My reaction is just: "o_________o"
It would be awesome if this was actually good, but... what are the chances of that? XD The last thing we need is another generic, terrible MMO :/

I am a big fan of MMOs, if they can do this right and maybe allow you to create your own transformer, which im pretty sure they will, I will get it a shot

With it being made by the same people as Runescape, that's scary. Yes Runescape was good, keyword WAS. Now it is just way over done and too complicated and restricted and such. WoW is 10x better. And I never really did like Hasbro, very kiddish games, but I guess thats what Transformers is, kiddish.

Hasbro don't just publish video games :P
They originate from making toys and boardgames.
The 80s transformers cartoon was aimed at kids, but a lot of adults watch it back, to get nostalgic and sh*t, and because it was so *****ing awesome!! So it's not just for kids. The original Transformers movie back in the 80s dominates the new ones :P It actually had a better story line, I kid you not.
Also, it's unfair to compare new MMO games to WoW, everyone knows WoW is the King of MMO, and nothing will touch it for quite some time. So I think people need to just section WoW off into it's own genre, and let other developers have their chance, before people cast their unfair judgement upon the new titles. I loved playing Age of Conan (after all of the bugs got fixed, after releasing the massive patch..), it was an awesome game. I found the game awesome, because I treated it like it was in a different genre to WoW and I gave it a fair chance, and didn't expect everything to be exactly the same or better; therefore I loved it.
There's a big chance Transformers MMO will fail, seeing as they've ****ed up the Transformers franchise with their **** new animated series and the ****, dramatised movies.. the only chance it has of winning, is if they base it on the 80s cartoon, the original birth of Transformers. They also need to spend a lot of time on it, and think about the content, and designing a game that will have you playing for hours on end, discovering new things all of the time without it being repetitive.

I see what you're trying to say, but still, look at Runescape. Way over done, and I just feel like if they have the same mentality in this Transformers game, then it will not be based of the 80's cartoon. Jagex is all about the new and now it seems like, with updates all the time and trying to keep things all organized and ****. I just think that Jagex is really going to **** up on this one, big time.

True, I'm not holding high hopes for this one. If it turns out to be great, then I will get a pleasant surprise. If it's not, I will go about my business, unaffected by the highly inevitable fact that this game will fail.
