Well actually as far as todays standards goes in FPS'es, activision is pretty normal.
Its just that our beloved Dice is yet again taking the first step in CREATING new standards :D Long live. :D

Ive read a review about homefront and they said that it was a good game but even if they put in ultra violence in some parts its just another fps.(this is their oppinion not mine cause I havnt played it yet)

It got released today in the UK, so I'm gunna head out and buy it soon.
Apparently it has a disappointing length in terms of it's campaign, below-par graphics and sketchy voice acting. But they said it has a fascinating & emotional story-line, fluid game play and an actual kick-ass multi-player mode!

The general conclusion, according to most reviews I have read, is that anyone buying this game will get their money's worth, especially with the multi-player being so valuable with this game. They're apparently taken all that is good about Call of Duty and Bad Company, and melded it into one game; reports say it's worked fantastically.

Im thinking about reviewing my first game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent if that hasnt been done already!

I'll probably also write a review on WoW, The Sims 3, and some older games such as SC: Pandora Tomorrow, Rome: Total War, Medieval 2: Total War, Dragon Age: Origins, Fallout and more!

I will probably not have too many games right at first since I dont have the money to buy many games right now, but once things get better I'm planning on minimum 1 review per week! But it may be much much less than that due to the bad times =(

Graphic isn't everything, so long this game don't prove that it can be played bugfree in single-and multiplayer I will be still just hope that it will be a continue for Battlefield 2, and not for Bad Company 2.

Battlefield 3 will be the true sequel to BF2...
Dice has allready talked about this in an interview, where they stated that they did the bad company spin off to gain experience with Singleplayer, and to test out different features in multiplayer to see what their fans thought about it...

However, it took them by suprise that Bad company became so popular. :)

And i agree with you Mordry, graphics isn't everything. But i am glad to see that they've used alot of time on getting alot of details into the game, it adds so much to the feeling of realism.

On another note i hope that they fix the system they use to calculate a bullets deviation... Just like in BF2 it seems like they've gone back to random deviation which would be horrible...

Yea, I've seen multiple concept art pictures. I think i have the concept art picture of Karkand in spoiler tags on the front page, cant quite remember though.

Anyways i have two reasons for not adding them (yet).

First: Its "just" concept art and nothing concrete on the game.
Secondly and a bit more important: I can't be bothered to bump this thread with a Update post when it's only... What? 3 pictures? :)

I guess i could add them if you feel strongly about this but i would prefer to just wait it out till after E3 and edit in a massive update on the frontpage. :)

The new Modern Warfare 3 trailer is out and the war between Battlefield 3 and MW3 just got a bit more heated. Viewers are posting their comments and so far so good for BF3. A stream of comments are pouring in. Some favorites have already been spotted. Long live Battlefield 3.

Nah, MW3 comes out November 8th.

As far as sales go, I'd imagine it'd sell better in summer, not fall/winter, because there wouldn't be as much competition. They release in the Fall, and they've got to compete with

Short version: Battlefield 3 will not follow after Bad company 2, no. :)

Long version. You see in the Battlfield franchise it's always been about multiplayer, but then before they wanted to create Battlefield 3 they wanted some more experience in Singleplayer and Scripting. Out of that, Bad Company was born.

Bad Company is a spin off from the Battlefield series and the first one to feature a singleplayer. It's multiplayer was also dialed down in comparison to other battlefield games.

Battlefield 3 will also feature a singleplayer, and as such, the bad company series will have given the developers exactly what they wanted out of the Bad Company project.

If you have a good enough PC, then certainly, hands down. If you're the kinda guy who prefers their visuals to be equal to the level of gameplay, and you haven't got a good enough PC, then I would recommend getting it for your console.

Of course the part where i need connection even to play singleplayer wont bother me since im always online, but atleast i demand (Yes, i DEMAND.) that the server that verifies my copy when i play a game is also online and operational at all times.

My main paecmaker wich I played normally and started with, but in the beginning I played so freaking bad that I messed up my statistics for ever (I have 0.29 in kd ratio)

There's been a brand new trailer launched at Gamescom today, showcasing a fair bit of air combat, and it looks incredibadass!!!!! So excite. This same trailer also demonstrates a lot of ground combat too, which is also pretty damn sweet. Not to mention the graphics are eye watering.

As well as the launch of the trailer, EA revealed a co-op game mode to us for Battlefield 3, where they played through a demo mission to show it off.

Well when I took part in the Alpha, I pretty much just played. It's hard to stand still and take in all the beauty because the action is just so God damn awesome! It just immerses you into the game. I love it.

True, it would have been nice to have mod support, and it would have been nice for the game to use just the DVD or Steam to play it, but they're not massive hindrances :) Steam was considered a massive hindrance back in the day, but most of gamers who use Steam got over it.

I completely understand how awesome it would be. However, if you weigh it all up then it isn't such a bad thing. The base game will be incredible, and it will provide many years of entertainment. You're forgetting that there will be DLC for the game as well, so I personally don't think that it will be a big deal.

Of course the game will be awesome, no question about it. And im not forgetting the DLC's.

But take the Kinect for example. Microsoft have made a couple of neat applications for it, but it was the community that made software to unleash the kinects potential.
Also, take Counter-Strike. It was originally a mod for Half-life made by 2 fans of the game, they took a great game, and modified it to create the most influential multiplayer FPS of all time.

So if you weight it all up, mod tools or not makes quite the difference.

By BF2 do you mean BF:BC2? BF3 is the sequel to BF2 which came out in 2005. There has been no sign of any announcements for BF:BC3 as of yet.

BF3 is more than just a regular release, because as aforementioned it is the sequel to BF2, which is from the main line of the Battlefield franchise, the backbone of all of the titles.

Won't be day 1, but when I get this game I may end up going with the PS3, I never wanted to put up with Origin in the first place, and I just keep hearing more and more negative things about it.. It's disappointing, because if EA wasn't pulling this crap, I'd get it for PC day 1 in a heartbeat.
