Since the internet came back on this past week ive been trying to connect to xbox live and what not to play some black ops well i guess during the down time they changed my ip and now when i try to access command prompt and get my ip im flooded with a screen of Tunnel adapter Local area network number 1-85.

I cant even see my ip or anything because im flooded with that worthless crap.

So is there any other methods of finding out my ip address, subnet, dns and gateway so i can access xbox live without having to go to MIC, because they are closed and wont open till monday.

>_> Kinda scares me that you don't know how to do this, but.. Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing > (whatever shows up next to Connections in the active networks area)

Problem is what you call common sense and what I call common sense two different things. its like you saying i should know that and me coming back saying you should know something i think is common sense.

That's the thing though, if you know how to use the run/cmd prompt, why wouldn't you think to look in the control panel/network options?

I was taught up to access that information by using cmd, my brother showed me the first semester i was at school when we were setting up xbox live.

you can see your public IP by visiting sites like What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address (http://www.whatismyip.com/)
you can also see it as Ilyich directed you through the control panel/network settings
if you want to use the command prompt but want it to pause at each screen full of information so it doesn't shoot past what you can see, try typing

ipconfig | more
and it should display as much information as it can on the screen and then pause and ask you to press a key to continue before it continues printing information. I might be wrong about this command, though... I'm no DOS prompt whiz.

EDIT: looked it up and you may or may not need spaces in the command ipconfig|more (I don't think it matters) and ENTER should print one more line and spacebar should print another page. Source:Using the More Option at a Command Prompt (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/227449)

Hope this helps!
