View Full Version : Marvel Capcom 3
Hey gamers, Echo here, and I wanted to know if anyone plays MvC3 at all.
I'm thinking about picking it up because I played it a local store and it was AWESOME.
So if you do play it can you give me tips or explain it a little for me?
Thanks.
(Oh, by the way I picked Doctor Doom,MODOK, and Magneto as my characters.)

This.
I haven't played it at an in-store demo station yet, but I'm thinking about grabbing this one anyway.
However, as aforementioned by Echo, I'd like a reliable opinion!

I liked it. A lot. I've thought about doing a review on it, I've got the footage, but.. have been busy. And MODOK kinda sucks. :S The bigger characters (MODOK, Hulk, She-Hulk, Sentinel, etc) are wayy too slow.
I usually choose Iron Man, Dante/Wesker, and Deadpool/Spider-Man. Fast enough to get in multiple combos and still strong enough to do a good amount of damage in the mean time.
Yeah when I played as MODOK I was like, They made MODOK suck.
What did you think of Doctor Doom?
I thought I played pretty well being it had that I've never played this game and I just mashed buttons until my enemy died.

I didn't really get a chance to try him, but my friend said he sucked (this coming from someone who sits there and mashes buttons, usually uses the X-factor or the special move at the beginning of the match) I didn't mind him that much, he wasn't the worst character I used lol
I liked him because.....well because hes Doctor Doom.

I've played it! Actually, I just played it this past weekend! I played on my friend's PS3 and I REALLY LIKE IT. I'm gonna definitely buy it. The graphics are INSANELY detailed! I really like it because when I was playing it, I noticed that the gameplay is very responsive and I could throw out ridiculous combos instantaneously. It was just plain fun to play. Definitely recommend! :)

I own it, and have since release. and I know it sounds harsh but most of you can probably get by with renting or borrowing it. Its fun at first but once you get online everyone beats you useing cheap tricks and the characters are horribly unbalanced.. I liked the game but unless you have a friend to play with thats the same skill level the fun wears out sorta quick : (

Since I heard of Mortal Kombat 9 being released, I stopped gravitating towards MvC3, and now I'm get MK9.
Interesting game, might have to give this a shot, although I've never been a huge fan of Marvel, maybe its time to try again :)

Basically what ZXD said, it isnt worth buying, but if you do one of the most over powered characters is wesker aka my favorite:) also Doctor Doom is really slow so i wouldnt use him, ryu and akuma on the other hand hit really well and are pretty fast, sentinel is the most overpowered though because one of his moves hits for 1/8th your health and it covers half the screen
Mortal Kombat on the other hand is really fun but again just a rent/ borrow game, it seems fighting games get really old quickly, the fatalitys are beautiful and the gameplay is really fun as well, they also tried to put a storyline into this ones campaign and from what ive seen its pretty decent

Yea I'm with him on this, a lot of fighting games just don't last anymore. I used to be able to sit down and play deadly arts for hours and hours or mace the dark age, now I have to try and force myself to put the disk in to try and get my monies worth with a lot of fighters.

I personally think it's better than them, but that's because I prefer the faster-paced fighters.

It was basically an arcade mode leading up to you fighting the Herald and Galactus to save the Earth.

the campaign in MvC 3 wasnt anything special, especially when Galactus was a push over, Mortal Kombat had a decent campaign for a fighter though, probably one of the best ive seen in the genre

Dude, I bought this game and owned at the story mode so I thought I was hot stuff and went to try my skills online, I got owned all day! It's nothing like MvC2 or the original! Everyone online seems to be a pro at this game! I rage at games and this game is a definite rage inducer. My record at the end of the day was something crazy like 3-50, long story short, I returned it the next day for GTA IV: The Complete Edition.
