Am I the only one who would love to be able to play New Jedi Order or Legacy era battles? i think it would be incredible to play as a Yuuzhan Vong warrior.

Don't know much about them. From the pictures... look like zombies.

Its kind of complicated to explain, and if you aren't a star wars fan i don't want to bore you. but they aren't zombies, theyre extra-galactic aliens immune to the Force, which puts the Jedi at a significant disadvantage

I am a Star Wars fan and I sort of know about them. I was always more interested in the pre-Republic era but I read about what happened after the Empire. Didn't they almost destroy everybody?

hopefully i can avoid spoilers, but yes, the Jedi and New Republic were almost wiped out. Jacen and Jaina Solo are teenagers during this series and really starting to live up to the Skywalker/Solo legacy. Honestly, The New Jedi Order book series may be my favorite star wars saga. I've always preferred the books and comics to the films

Yeah the SW books are fantastic. I have no desire to read past the Clone Wars, and read it all through wikipedia so don't worry about spoilers. I loved the Darth Bane novels. I think they were by far my favorite. After Revan, before Palpatine. He rocked, and showed how he sowed the seeds for the eventual domination of the Jedi.

Yeah Darth Bane was awesome. I've always sided with the Sith. They have a few new novels set during Revan's time (The Old Republic: Deceived and The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance) that I really need to read. I'm broke though so I'm gonna wait for paperbacks

I haven't touched TOR: Fatal Alliance... is that new?

sort of. The hard cover was released July 20, 2010.
Tassaa Bareesh, a matriarch in the Hutt crime cartel, is holding an auction that’s drawing attention from across the galaxy. Representatives of both the Republic and the Sith Empire are present, along with a Jedi Padawan sent to investigate, a disenfranchised trooper drummed out of the Republic’s elite Blackstar Squad, and a mysterious Mandalorian with a private agenda. But the Republic’s envoy is not what he seems, the Empire’s delegate is a ruthless Sith apprentice, the Jedi Padawan is determined to do the right thing and terrified that he can’t, the trooper hopes to redeem her reputation, and the Mandalorian is somehow managing to keep one step ahead of everyone.

None of these guests—invited or uninvited—have any intention of participating in the auction. Instead they plan to steal the prize, which is locked inside an impregnable vault: two burned chunks of an exploded star cruiser, one of which may hold the key to the wealth of an entire world.

But the truth about the treasure is dangerous and deadly. And in the end, Sith and Jedi, Republic and Empire, must do something they’ve never done before, something that all the agents of good and evil could never make them do: join together to stop a powerful threat that could destroy the galaxy… Thats the cover summary

Sound cliche and lame... "join together to stop a powerful THREAT THAT COULD DESTROY US ALLLLLL OMG!!"

One series I enjoyed a lot was the Star Wars Republic Commando series. Based towards the end of the clone wars and a tad beyond. Puts it in the perspective of the Mandalorians, very intriguing read. That's about as far as I'll go. It just seems like there is so much more in pre-Clone Wars, whereas post-Clone Wars rehashes everything with different people.

I love the RepCom books. Karen Traviss is brilliant, and I've always loved Mandalorians. But really, all of the post Return of The Jedi books came out way before the clone wars stuff. Most of the books took place 5 to 25 years after return of the jedi. Then the prequels came out, and they started writing books for that era, so the post clone wars stuff isn't rehashing characters and scenarios. In fact its just the opposite.

Touche. I suppose pre-Clone Wars has a granduer that draws me. Wasn't really ever a big fan of Luke Skywalker anyways.

If I have to be honest? I agree with Lanzer here.

I remember watching the first Star Wars movies from the what 1970s? I was maybe like 10 years old, and a HUGE sci fi fan, and I watched them, and I was "Wtf is this ****!?"

Then Phantom Menace came out, after I had been a big UNFAN of SW for years, and I LOVED IT!!! So I watched all of them, and now love SW ^_^

But the games are not really my thing, atleast not the MMORPGs...Force Unleashed was pretty darned cool, and thinking about getting Force Unleashed 2.

True, but to each his own. The beauty is that the post-Clone Wars is available for any to wish to read, and if not there are pre-Clone Wars who prefer that era. The option is there.

That being said, KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) I & II was a fantastic game! It was much ahead of it's time. Still is as far as I'm concerned.

I actually played Battlefield 2 for PS2.
It was fun when you could go to that place where you could always pick the guys with the powers and the glow swords, and where you fly in space messing spaceships up.
Good fun.

Indeed. I get the feeling you were in it for the gameplay?

exactly. Star Wars is massive. There's like 7 different eras, and they work both as separate stories and one long story. Not only that, but there are so many factions and elements in every era that really make it interesting.

Personally I would rather want the pre republic and during the republic rather then during the empire. It has been covered so much.

Or play as that little green guy with the green sword.
Expand on his story, 'cause I don't know much about him except he's awesome on battlefront 2.

Lol. Despite the fact that it's a game, it still explores an era not touched on very often.

i REALLY wish they would make a new star wars battlefront. it would thrive on xbox live. plus, its freaking star wars. it sells itself.

Preach, brotha, preach. haha. What would you add to a third one if it was your project? and what eras would you want?

after having to wait for so long for a 3rd game i think they should include as many battles as they possibly can from all eras. i wasnt too big on the addition of jedis to the battle in the second one. but thats just a preference. i just like the whole idea of seeing the battles from the soldiers perspective, and not including the main characters.

id like them to stick with a similar class system like from teh previous ones. but it would be cool if they made it similar to something like call of duty with the customization of weapons and special abilites/perks. i dont want it to feel like call of duty though. i think it needs to stay 3rd person and feel like a star wars game.
