Dear admin(s) and fellow forum users

My name is Thomas Abeln and I'm a 22 year old student at the University of Amsterdam located in Amsterdam, Holland. Currently I am doing a research on sports and race games (NBA, NHL and Formula 1 racing). My question is whether I am allowed to post a very short survey I have made for this research on those topics on the forum. It will take a bit more than 5 minutes to fill in and is anonymous. It would help me a great deal and will also make sure I might be able to continue doing research on video games which is great. Please let me know if I'm allowed to post this questionnaire on the forum, if you have any question you can personal message me or reach me on my email: thomas_abeln@hotmail.com.

Cheers,

Thomas

Sure! I appreciate that you even asked! Go right ahead - you'll probably get about 5~10 hits from this forum on your survey.

Survey + Questionnaire + Research + Panel = thesistools.com (http://www.thesistools.com/web/?id=193874)

Cheers and thanks a lot!

Wow, I suck. I just realized you gave him the ok.... But he posted the same post in 3 of the other forums...

Whoops. :(

Why did he get banned?

Was a mistake on my part. He posted the same thread 3 times on the forum.

But I just un-banned him and put the link to his survey back. :D

Sorry for the confusion Thomas. Thought you were a spammer. Welcome aboard.

yeah, fyi, posting the same thread/post anywhere multiple times on the forum is unnecessary/irritating. The post in this thread is enough. Good job at reading this thread, W1CKED :P

I filled out your survey. Good luck!

more discussion of things you should only read after taking the survey:

haha me too! I only caught the DHL ad. I don't even know what DHL sells XD I'm wondering how many of those listed in the survey were actually in the gameplay video... I mean... it couldn't be all of them, could it? Was I that oblivious?

It's because you gave a harsh answer, and were quick to reject someone's genuine ask for help; It's not the GF way of doing things, we're friendly.

Well excuse me for having a hard time recognizing a poster from a spammer >.> Jeez............................

It's not that, it's the fact that you jumped on him with a comment, instead of reporting him. If you didn't agree with what he posted, or if what he posted offended you, you must report the thread and say nothing, instead of potentially causing an unwanted argument with the OP.

You and I have been told this before, by Muffin, I'm pretty sure.

Let's not get into an argument about it... We allow people to post links to their surveys, and help them out quite often :) It's not really a big deal, and even if they don't stay and chat, it's nice, anyway.

edit: another "don't read unless you've taken it": I also failed XD I only got Bridgestone from the F1 trailer.

Thanks all,

It was in no way my attention to spam. I just hoped this way I could have more people fill it in since its main focus is on racing and sports games. In this way I thought I could reach both types of gamers. I'm sorry. Lesson learned.
