And here's our Judgement Day forecast.
http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_llevueY2IN1qc2okio1_500.png
So tomorrow is "Judgement day" apparently, the day those loyal to god will be start transcending into heaven over the next 5 months, until the rapture on October 21. Anyone believe in this or think it's just a big scam from the church? I'm pretty skeptical on it myself, and I'm not thinking it's gonna happen. Gonna spend my Judgement Day having a jam session with the band.
Also, I really hope someone get's the title reference. lol
EDIT: Here's one of many articles just to fill you in May 21, 2011 Judgment Day! Tract - eBible Fellowship (http://www.ebiblefellowship.com/outreach/tracts/may21/)

See I'm a Christian, but this stuff annoys me. I understand where they're getting the date from, but don't agree with the calculations at all. For all you non-Christians out there, I feel the need to apologize for spiritual nuts like the ones promoting this stuff. We're not all like that.

....Well...todays the day....
So....where is all of the fire and the scorching temperatures and the cracking ground and devils crawling out of fiery portals to slaughter the unbelievers while the believers sprout wings from their spines and flutter into the skies where they'll eventually run out of oxygen and drop like flies from the skies?
Of course this whole thing is a scam, it always is.
I mean think about it, with the current technology, what're the odds that scientists and seismologists all miss the fact that a huge cataclysmic catastrophe will happen in less than 24 hours? It's impossible.
It is just another scam by the christians to attempt converting more people to believe in god, and then when all the new believers who have thrown their common sense away question why nothing happened, all of the bishops and priests and fanatics will claim that god was so touched by all of their worshipping and knee scraping humble-ness that he decided to spare the earth for another 100 years etc. etc. etc. bla bla bla religious propaganda and so forth and so on yadayadayada.
So no, absolutely not.
Actually, it's kinda sad when religions are fighting over when every single person on earth will die... The Mayans thought it'll be 2012, and christians think its today(for some unexplained reason)
And they said it'd happen last midnight...well...which midnight? Midnight in LA? NY? Orlando? Atlanta? Dallas? Washington? Jerusalem? Berlin? London? Paris? Rome? Cairo? What midnight are they reffering to? Cause considering we're all gonna die it's pretty important that they know this before they begin spewing about it.
As always, everything hints on that another religious doomsday forecast is simple nonsense.
Dude, Saph, you're highly misinformed man. I don't know a single Christian that believed the world would end today, and any Christian that is true to their faith would know that the Bible states that no one can or will know the time. You tend to generalize too much. I see this from you often. One man claiming to be a Christian is going on about the end of the world.. Accusing all Christians of spreading this nonsense makes you no better than the people that think all Muslims are terrorists.
And the Mayans didn't think anything. Their calendar simply ends in 2012. The idea that it marks the end of the world was introduced by a bunch of idiots.

You even read the article? (Keep in mind I don't believe in what's "happening")
Judgment day is today (supposedly). No fire and four horsemen etc until October 21. Don't just go off spitting out info without even looking into it man.
To even think that this is the belief of EVERY christian, and that all people of the faith believe it is ridiculous. Pastor at the church i went to when I was younger said it's a bunch of crap lol. It's the thoughts of 1 man, spread like a seed to a bunch of un-educated people that want nothing more than something to believe in. It's not a scam to get people to convert, it's a man who's spreading panic and people are believing it.
The Mayans never predicted the end of the world. They were working on a calender, and they were invaded by rival nations. It's shown that they were invaded in studies and that their work, and culture, were lost. Most likely when their calender stopped at Dec. 21, 2012. This is not a factual Christian belief, someone slapped some bible quotes that fit semi-half-assedly into this belief.

Accually saph, A atheist doesnt belive in anything supernatural, if you believe in god you are not an atheist, you are a believer. Now not that many christians believe in everything the bible say. I am partly christian and a linguist at the same. I am raised as a christian and go in church on bigger holidays, I will marry in a church and be burried in a churchly graveyard but still dont think that the bible is true.

Saying that you're not stereotyping and then going on to say that most Christians are hypocritical nutjobs is not being tolerant. Adding "most" does not make it okay. Other people are on this forum; do not aggressively attack other's beliefs in an extremely rude way.
Ilyich Valken
05-21-2011, 02:31 PM
So even if I sounded stereo typey, I didn't mean to, but fact of the matter is that christians(MOST! MOST!...sorry)are hipocritical nutjobs if they THEMSELVES begin to claim truth and false on their own religion, then they're no better than what they believe atheists to be.
Thing is, most Christians didn't think today was going to be the Rapture. Only the idiots and fanatics. Contrary to populary belief, most Christians aren't as out spoken about their religion as you'd think. They don't go around trying to convert everyone who isn't one, or spewing "God this, God that, you're going to hell if you do this, this, and this." It just doesn't happen.
But please don't put a permanent marker on me by making a negative rep. Now if I was swearing and directly insulting a person or otherwise going way out of line? By all means, but just for speaking my opinion? No...
Sorry to say, but it was kind of out of line. Both of your posts were basically railing on all Christians and ranting about a subject it doesn't sound like you're all that read-up on. It just sounds like your going off of what the fanatics do mixed with preconceived notions.

Saph, no one cares if you have a different opinion. Most of us are atheists, I am pretty sure. However, this is a public forum, and we do NOT attack other peoples' beliefs the way you did in this thread. Expressing other opinions is fine - we encourage it, and it's great.
However, you did not do that in this thread, and don't pretend that you did. You were extremely rude, inflammatory, and provocative.
Let's not continue this discussion any further in this thread.

People are seeing 'ghosts' because it keeps happening. And then you make a post like this, enraged, basically complaining about how you always seem to be the victim after coming in and blatantly stating your opinion and then arguing against others when they say something.
Stop acting like a victim and take some genuine responsibility. If you get called out on something, don't fly off the rails and make it worse, make a calm and collected post. For example, you have to be respectful to get respect, this is a similar situation. People are more likely to take it as hostile if you're not careful.

Thats the thing Paec, we dont know when we are going to die but these people like to take shots in the dark and give themselves alot of attention that they shouldnt get.
From what ive seen and heard the biggest threat to humanity is a gamma ray pulse, not sure that is the correct term but there is a star that can explode at anytime and we are in the direct path of its pulse and when it hits, or if it does explode, the earth will be doomed. this 2012 crap is non sense. People are freaking out all over the world about different dates and what not, why not just enjoy life and when your time comes your time comes.
I just think the religious nuts shouldnt be allowed to say that stupidity they are about the end of the world, just annoying.

I dont believe in this nonsence with 2012 and hope nobody else(even if some probably) does. Thank god that atleast some are sane.
Now I'm only here to just comment on this, that's it, I'm not in a rant mood :p
I agree I don't see why these people get all of this attention that they don't deserve.
I mean some of the attention might be good, but I bet that the vast majority of the attention they get is just people laughing at them at this point.
But to them, I guess, it's still attention, and I really think that's what all of the judgement day **** boils down to.
Attention.

A GRB is supposed to happen sometime around that time, but there's no proof that we're in it's direct path, even one degree off and it'll miss us entirely. It's a hit-or-miss situation. It hits, we all die painlessly/instantly. It misses, not a whole lot happens.
