Of an Ipod Nano being the "direct cause" of someone getting hit in the heart by a lighting bolt?
This came up because my friend bought up lighting and I stated I like lighting, she tells me her cousin was killed because a lighting bolt hit him right in the heart, where his Ipod Nano was located at.
I dont think this is possible unless he was very unlucky and god hated him.

Gotta be coincidence man. Or the super super SUPER small chance of it heading towards him anyways, but the metal in the iPod (with a ridiculously weak magnetic pull) pulled it from his head (highest point) to his heart.

There would be no correlation, unless he was running around in an empty field with his ipod above his head with a giant antennae, wearing trashcan armor or something. Most Apple products (especially the Nano) are made (at least the casing) from plastics. In addition to the Nano being small as hell..
That said, lightning would hit the tallest thing around, meaning a tree, a house, a telephone/power pole before it hit a human, normally. It would travel from the head down and then back.
Sorry to say, but your friend's a moron if she thinks that he got hit from lightning because of it.

just one of those freak and unlucky events, like that woman who was walking her dog in the park one day, and got skewered by a frozen piss-icicle from an aeroplanes toilet.

I'm really doubting that an iPod Nano could cause a lightning bolt to redirect itself towards it because it doesnt have a large magnetic pull
