GSC game world is shutting down, STALKER 2 is cancelled.(maybe)

I will save all things I wrote before in the spoiler area

Ive read some on the new stalker game.

Some info here

It seems like they will make it more like a rpg more than a shooter as it was before.

Unlike the other games they will put down less time and even get rid of the factionwars, pesonally I think they mean that it will be more mutants instead of humans as enemies.

And they are going to make more underground places like labs and such. They also want to fill them with new enemies, so prepare fo a couple of nasty surprises if you enter one.

It was really long time since I added stuff here so I do some things.

In the stalker wikia there a some info

There will be new mutants, new areas even if some older areas will come back again. It also stands that the game will be a single large world to eliminate loading times(this I like). One thing that is coming are female stalkers. But the main protagonist is likely someone from the older games according to the wiki.
They use a whole newly designed engine capable for DX11 .

They are going to work more on the multiplayer and add more original modes, now maybe we can have more than just deathmatches.

The game is set to come out in 2012.

One thing Im a little worried about is that the game is going to be a multi port.

I will come back when more info is available.

Well heres a question and answers from their facebook page

Q: What will be the biggest difference between S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and the previous games, if any?
A: In brief, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will offer new story, new set characters (with some good old ones) and, of course, the new engine powering it.

Q: Will there be more of a survival element to STALKER 2?
A:Yes.

Q:What features have been removed/compromised in the PC version due to the multiplatform release?
A:Since we develop primarily on PC, you won't see any compromises in the PC version. The key difference between the PC and console versions will be the beauty of graphics (meaning PC will offer more of visual effects).

Q:Will there be any new kinds of interaction with NPCs?
A: How do you mean? It's difficult to answer this one.

Q:Will Sidorovich be in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2?
A:I will refrain from answering this one for now.

Q:Will the faction wars return?
A:No.

Q:Will the interface (inventory, map, etc) on the pc version suffer (like other games have) by trying to cater for console systems?
A: No, whatsoever.

Q:Will there be any new mutants?
A:Yes.

Q:How many weapons will be in Stalker 2?
A:It's difficult to give the quantitative figure at this point.

Q:Which part of the zone will it take place? Or is it the zone at all?
A:We'll be locating the game in the triangle of CNPP, the cities of Chernobyl and Chernobyl 2 (where the huge antenna is located).

Q:Is Zone going to be a large single ?
A:Let's postpone this question for now.

Q:Will it support DX11?
A:Yes.

Q:Will we see more X-Labs and secret underground complexes?
A:Yes.

Q:Will GSC expand on the import-a-weapon feature introduced with Nimble, and allow players access to more varied and custom weapons from outside the Zone by importing them through specialist contacts?
A:We have some interesting new ideas on this matter.

Q:Will artifacts be something we can go out and transmute through Anomalies?
A:No. However, the area of artifact application will expand.

THIS. IS. WHY. I. LOVE. THIS. GAME!
Already!

And exactly that's where those twats at valve went wrong with Portal 2 and those little noobs at Crytek did wrong with Crysis 2.
You can see the scars and chainmarks from the restrictions of the weakass console-hardware all over those games. I mean both games are great, even on PC, but they're not even halfway to what they could've been.

And that's why I'll robb a bank and buy 100 copies of STALKER 2. Even if it's crap in every other aspect. Make a solid, beautiful, well-nourished PC version first, and THEN starve it to death, cut it's face and pour acid over it until it's reduced to a shytty nothing that can run on a console. (harsh exaggaration, but it has to do)

I was very disappointed that Crytek decided to bring out Crysis 2 on the consoles as well, because I knew that this would mean the PC version would suffer, graphically. I hate consoles and the way they suck the life out of PC gaming... ****ing wankers! :P So I agree with Havoc there.

However, I hope that STALKER 2 isn't going to be Fallout with a mask...

Nah I have faith in the east-european gaming industry :3
They're not twats like Crytek (germany) or well... Valve...

CDProject delivered some hardcore shyt with Witcher 2, being a polish developer.
Stalker 2 being developed in the Czech republic I have great faith that they won't screw it up.
Have you ever played a game by the Russian developer "Ice-Pick Lodge"? Just shows that eastern Europe doesn't screw around. They have their priorities straight and probably hate the masses of Console fanboys.

They also make enough money relative to the average income in those countries to not really give a damn about piracy. And they're well acquainted with it as Russia for example is a hotbed for piracy. And they're aware that it doesn't in fact harm the market as much as tripleA publishers like EA or Ubisoft want us to believe.
Those are just greedy little twats that whine about every lost buck.(if that would even be the case) Fact!

nah I dont think they will do something like fallout. They will make a stalker game with a atmosphere ten times darker than before(I hope) And I think they are smart enough not to do something else.

They're removing all the good stuff and adding extra boring stuff?!!!
I loved the faction wars and I loved killing human enemies (my favourite enemies).
And what about the underground places?! I hated those locations and have never went there unless I was on a mission.
Adding new mutants sounds nice, but it also sounds like multiplying the boredom. When fighting mutants, headshots and chestshots are just as useless as blankshots. I hate it when a shot in the head doesn't cause instant death to an enemy.
And Stalker is a first person walker rather than a first person shooter. The most fun I've experienced in Call of Pripyat was in the last mission (and a few other battles in Pripyat). Instead of adding more action, they're actually removing the small ammount the game already has?!!
I hope that they'll improve the visuals of the characters - and give them voices. I’d also like to see a better storyline and a fast-travelling option.

Well what I liked most about the game was the mutants and the feeling, there is a fast travel system already(bad but there are one) .

I liked the fights against both humans and monsters but sometimes it felt that there was to many humans.

Stalker's atmosphere is one of that game's best characteristics indeed, but they'll have to try a bit harder, since atmosphere is not the only thing a game should have.
I was talking about a fast-travel system like the one in Fallout (mixed with the one Stalker already has). I hate it when I do something at one place, then have to go to the other end of the map, just to find out that I have to get back again. I don't like walking huge distances without fighting.
What do you mean by "too many humans"? There were barely any battles against humans in COP.
The mutants are boring to fight with, since they all look nearly the same and your weapons feel useless against them.
They should also improve the way you knife your enemies, since the knifing in COP was a disaster.
And I hope they don't turn Stalker into a Ukrainan version of Fallout.

I dont know with you but often I met (mostly at grabage and rostok and red forest) only humans bandits and stuff. And later you meet monolith.

The faction wars was fun indeed but it felt almost more like naother shooters with taht, or that is atleast what I think.

Fighting mutants didn't feel too good. When you kill a mutant in Fallout, you get rewarded. But in Stalker, you waste all of your ammunition on a pseudo giant and get nothing in return. The annoying dogs were extremely annoying, since I always had to spend a health-kit and a bandage after fighting them. The burers were my least favourite enemies, because they were hard to kill, and once you kill them (and totally waste your ammunition and health packs), you don't know that they're dead, for they never act like it. They just stand there like they're still alive, making you spend yet another clip before realizing that you're wasting ammo for no reason.
The only "good" mutants, were the snorks. The way they looked was original and they always fought fair. Shooting them in the body didn't usually do much, but headshots worked just fine.
I think it would be cool to see 10 snorks attacking you at the same time. That would be a battle I’d like to see.
Though I still prefer combat in open places (when it comes to Stalker, that is). I hated the rats attacking me in narrow hallways, where you can barely see anything. And I also didn’t like the missions were you have to go under ground and search secret labs for documents and stuff.
I prefer battles like the ones in Far Cry 2 and Wolfenstein 2009: Go there, kill everyone, blow something up, finish the mission. :D

Well you can, there is a battle in clear sky where you (mild spoiler) and a few friends have to clear out a nest full of mutants, When you coem up there the snorks are jumping out of a hole and is slaughtering your friends. Lol, I backed and emptied all weapons while 10+ snorks where jumping against me.

Now this is what I like about stalker, Ammo is scarce and you have several enemies left. PS zombies(if you can say that they are zombies) have weapons and drop ammo.(but yeah psuedogiants are just a pain in the ass and burn LOTS of precious ammo)
Fallout 3 was a great game but I really like the more survivor horror aspect of stalker(but that is just my personal feelings) .

I've only played the original and Call of Pripyat, and I have no intentions of playing a game as massive as Stalker once again, so I'm afraid I'll have to miss that battle for now. :) There was a big battle in COP, but I didn't get to enjoy it so much, since I was rather low on ammo (and I was trying to spare it).
Fallout 3 was a great game indeed, but the countless unfixable bugs and crashes, as well as the boring parts kinda ruined it for me.
Though Stalker is better than Fallout in some aspects, Fallout is superior to Stalker, and therefore I find it to be a better game.
I'll post a Fallout vs Stalker thread soon and I'll explain the reasons I prefer Fallout over Stalker. :D
