What are easter eggs. SRSLY?? Do the creators just put those in there just for ****s and giggles?? on WaW and BO zombies they were important towards the story line of it. I mean, sure they are fun to do and find but why do they put them in there. on MW2 i found out tht if u go on the campaign and look at license plates on cars it says "Infinity Ward" at the top of it. On BO if u go to the multiplayer map "Villa" and go into a bulding and look at a window sill and there are cans that say "Treyarch"Plz if u guys or grls hav any clue on wat Easter eggs are plz tell me. Thank You.

easter eggs are just things thrown in that you have to discover, whether they're just for fun (like the numerous references to other hideo kojima games throughout the metal gear solid series) or actually serve a purpose (in the Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story dvd, if you press "enter" or "select" or whatever when ben stiller's character snaps, you gain access to more bonus features) but they're not supposed to have anything to do with the plot

Easter Eggs are, essentially, hidden extras within games. They can be something as simple as a random joke, an Inside joke for Fans of that game (or series) or refferences to pop culture.

Easter Eggs are usually in most games nowadays, but was more popular during the PS1/N64 and the GC/XB/PS2 generations.

I know taht in one map on bf 1943 there is a small sandcastle.

Like everybody else said easter eggs are things that are not essential for the game in any ways, many serves as internal jokes,(like in mortal kombat, the game is full of different things. It could be something that was just put in by a funny programmer(like in sim copter).

In Perfect Dark, if you shoot all the bottles in this one room it says "quit wasting your time" or somethin like that. in roller coaster tycoon 1 and 2 if you name a character Chris Sawyer, he walks around takin pictures (the pictures don't do anything, its just a regular character that has a picture taking animation) stuff like that are easter eggs

It seems like he is really asking, "Why do they put easter eggs into games?"

Which is, yeah, pretty much just for fun. People also feel accomplished if they find some silly thing the developers put in... and it's just a fun thing for them to do.

not fun for all, one guy got fired after putting in an easter egg in sim copter.

Now, that easter egg was about that all npc persons in the game turned to old men in bathing clothes and started kissing eachover on his birthday(and some more):p

He got fired soon after.:(

This might've already been said, but I'm just going to write it anyway to support it :p

Yeah, easter eggs are cool little 'bonus materials' that you can find through extensive searching, or just happening upon them as you play. A common easter egg in some games such as browser games it to hover your mouse over a certain spot, and a shape might light up, if you click it, you might get a bonus level, or extra equipment etc.

An easter egg never affects the storyline of the game though, it's can be anything from situations such as the above, or simply a funny refference to something RL(Very commonly there're for example refferences to books, movies, other games, historic moments and so on)

So easter eggs are really what the name hints on. A rediculously awesome thing that you did NOT expect to be there, and, depending on what the easter egg holds, can be varying degrees of awesomeness.

Though they're always awesome.

I believe games such as Half Life, Duke Nukem, and GTA are FULL of easter eggs.

I think one thing that can fit as an easter egg is the dialogues in WC3.

If you click on "for example" an orc warrior he first say normal stuff like yes boss, but if you click enough times they say funny things like.

stop poking me.
why dont you lead an army instead of touching me.

I love that kind of things.

Those aren't aliens, they are zombies. The ppl in the theatre were showing how a zombie cannot teleport with u in the MDT (or trying to explain element 115 more better to ppl) , because the MDT has 115 substinance and the zombies have the same substinance and when 2 of tht same element collide it results in death for the zombie (yes i follow the story line of zombies ever since Shi No Numa and all my CoD friends now expect ME to figure it out myself and i said "I accept tht challenge." And i shall post the whole story on here for u guys :D)

Thank you everyone for helping me out on Easter eggs. When i was lil i looked up cheats and stuff and i saw "Easter eggs" and thought to myself "The easter bunny puts in eggs in games too" (and note i was only 7 at the time) and followed out where it was and thought it was cool. I only wanted to know why do they put in easter eggs? i thought they were just ****in around, bein funny and forgotten to take it out of the game. and heres one i found out if ur a CoD fan.

On the game Call of Duty: World at War, on the second level, at the end when SGT. Sullivan gets stabbed before tht, turn on the subtitles, and look at the battom of the screen. It turns out a U.S. Marine killed Sullivan not an Imperial soldier. I thought that was cool the first Easter egg i found legitly. And my friend is a CoD nerd and never knew about tht. :)
