Help with Pokemon!

I need someone to explain to me what EV's and IV's are and what egg moves are. I wanna get into the competitive side of Pokemon and without this knowledge I know I'll go no where...

EV's and IV's are Effort Values and Individual Values, but I won't do the reading for ya so here, catch:

As for egg moves those are moves that can be passed down by breeding, so pokemon that would not originally be able to obtain certain moves can get them.
