Connersville, Ind.—
Just days after the texting while driving ban took effect, a 21-year-old plows through a Richmond business while texting behind the wheel.

Around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon, 21-year-old Lucas Harrison of Connersville was headed southbound on Chester Boulevard when he veered across the northbound lanes of traffic and jumped a curb before narrowly missing a post.

Harrison’s car then crashed into the Grandview Medical Building, plowing through the retail area and then clear out the other side.

“There was a 10 foot hole on this side and an eight foot hole on the other,” says Steve Krider, marketing director for Grandview Pharmacy.

Its all his fault, he should've known that someday, something would go wrong, and he'd end up damaging something. What an idiot -.-

i was driving on a back road that there's hardly ever anyone on, and pulled out my phone to tell my friend i was by his house and to be ready, but i couldn't do it so i had to pull over and text him. one time i was driving and he texted me a few times and then he texted our friend that was with me saying i had to learn to text and drive and im just like hell no.

There doesn't have to be a ban in place to trigger people's common sense; he is an idiot and I hope he is paying off those damages for a long, long time, as he could have killed someone, or himself.

We've had no texting laws for about a year and a half now in BC. The numbers casualties and crashes dropped so much over the course of time. It's a necessary thing, and hopefully this guy's incident helps spread the message it's not okay to people.
