In your opinion what is the best RPG ever (that does not include WoW and Runescape) it must be a game that you can play by yourself or play with others
also it does not have to be new it could be a very old game it just has to be a rpg.

In my opinion ......I don't actually have a opinion i have played many rpgs and other type of games for many years on many different consoles but it would be impossible for me to come up with a answer however i do quite enjoy baldur's gate and would like to see everyone's opinion on what is the best.

This is a tough one. My favorite one is Legend of Dragoon, but each RPG has different ups and downs. Demons souls is awesome but mad hard which would turn most people away, Legend of Dragoon is sweet but basically a FF7 ripoff, FF7 is awesome but its incredibly easy (except for the weapons). Diablo 2 has awesome online but after playing online in any amount the single player sucks...

System Shock 2 is pretty sweet, that's definitely up there.

For older games I am leaning more for neverwinter nights(not THAT old) and fallout 2.

Today its, hm its hard I say fallout 3 for the open world, Dragon age for the story and mass effect for some other ****.

I almost forgot Knights of the old empire (kotor) and the sithlords.

I have to go with Fallout 3. for the simple fact of the world is your own and you can travel around for hours, weeks, maybe even months depending on how much time you spend, and still not complete everything, side quests mainly, and find everything. Its awesome to have complete control over your character and not be forced to follow a timeline of sorts.

#1 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion(soon probably Skyrim)

1. Gothic 1/2
2. The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (Soon Skyrim on first or second rank)
3. The Witcher 1/2
4. Risen
5. Vampires Dawn 1/2
6. Eternal Legends

I don't want to think about the other 4.^^

Hard, but my Top 10 (unless there's one I'm somehow forgetting about..):

Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy VII or IX (these two are neck n neck)
Baldur's Gate 2
DA: Origins
The Witcher 1/2
Golden Sun
Demon's Souls
Oblivion (as posted above, hopefully Skyrim with be friggin amazing)
Fallout 3

1. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
2. Baldurs Gate 2
3. Knights of the Old Republic 1/2
4. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (it was on ps3 and 360 great game but shulda had more weps/armor)
5. Fallout New Vegas

Morrowind and Baldurs Gate were the craziest games when they came out also one on ps2 called darkstone maybe? All open world and open mission well except Baldurs Gate but so immersive smh new one needs to be made.

Minecraft is my favourite, I class that as an RPG,
It seems like one anyways :p

I wouldn't really call it an rpg, it's more about just building stuff, isn't it?

I guess it isn't classified as one, but it has a lot of RPG elements within the gaming system, so Its kind of an RPG, just not a FULL RPG :p
