GF Game Night

I was thinking today and thought what if we had a Gamer's Forum Game night. The plan is that one night of every month we can get together and play a certain game rather it be on Xbox, PS3, PC, or even Wii. If you don't have the game were playing you could always join us on the IRC or party on XBL.

There have been several unsuccessful attempts to make game nights happen, but if you want to try, then you should :) It usually doesn't work because we don't really have a huge active community, and we have fairly different interests. Most people can't commit to a dedicated "game night" or have different games/consoles than the one proposed at game night, and we don't have a big enough member base to cover the holes.

Usually what happens is people find each other, find out they play a similar game/get interested from someone here, and then smaller groups play together. It's more like a group of friends than a dedicated "game night."

I'd love a game night, personally - I think it would be tons of fun. However, it will take someone really dedicated to planning it out and following through in order to make it happen. They usually just fizzle out :(

We've done this a few times, with CS, L4D2, BFBC2, and TF2. We kinda have mini game nights in LoL from time to time. I wouldn't mind getting something else going that's more organized.

Like Muffin said it will be Hard to get People to play, it's do able if you have the Patience though.

Yea, despite the size of this we have a surprisingly small amount of active members, not enough for a dedicated game night. I know there's a GF minecraft server and a bunch of people play LoL together, but thats about it.

I don't like that you said "or EVEN Wii" (Nintendo Fanboy ftw.) but I have to agree. It would be a nice idea. But I have 2 better Ideas:

Do that Game Night when BF3 comes out (in most cases then no people who actually know everything from the beginning)
Choose a good time where everyone can play. For Example: German (yes, only me) and British (I guess a few more) have a large difference of timezones (British = 5 - 7 hours and Germans 6-8 hours)
No Wii Internet, I'm a 100% Nintendo Fanboy but I don't use my Wii for Internet. Not because of the connection, it's just: When I Play games in Multiplayer, then with other people I can speak to though. Only a few less games have Wii Speak and I can't have Internet and Wii both at the same time in Internet.

But if I can, I'll join the party.
