I like Daniel Radcliffe. I don't think anyone could've done Harry Potter better than him. Occasionally, I hear people say he's a bad actor, but they never really explain how.

He also supports the It Gets Better Project, which lots of celebrities don't like to associate themselves with for fear of being accused of being gay or whatever. There's other personal things I like about him as well.

I think Radcliffe was good in the beginning but he has grown out of the role of Harry Potter. I think he'd have no chance if there was a separate casting for HP7. But they picked him in the beginning and they had to do the whole series with him.

The series of Harry Potter went from (G) to (M15+), its kinda strange how it changed so fast.

The story just got darker the longer it went on. For the first four films, the main threat (Voldemort) wasn't really around much, but from the fifth film and onward, it started to get darker because of him coming back to power.

Occasionally, I hear people say he's a bad actor, but they never really explain how.

I will explain why, as I am one of those people that you're referring to.

His screen and stage presence is bad, and his body language is just so... blergh and awkward. He is actually a socially awkward penguin. He isn't believable in any role that he plays, and at times he really does remind you that it's just a movie, thus putting a dampener on the whole escapism experience of watching a movie.

Conclusion: Awkward body language, unnecessarily weird facial expressions, bad screen/stage presence, vocally terrible, and he is generally not very convincing in his roles.

He does not deserve to have earned as much money as he has done with Harry Potter, when there are so many more people who are a million times better at acting than he is.

However, him being in Harry Potter is a good thing, as he is now a type-cast actor, so I don't think that he will get a lot of movie offers now because of that... oh, and the fact that he is terri-bad.

**Edit: The only role that he would be good at playing, in my opinion, is a role of that creepy guy... aka a paedophile.

I don't know, I guess so. I don't think he's as bad as you're describing. I like his facial expressions. They look very real and believable to me.

I think your description fits Robert Pattinson better. Now he seems like a bad actor in the little I've seen him in.

They're only my opinions though, and I'm a pretty harsh critic :P
I don't like the movies that Pattinson stars in, however I do think he's a pretty good actor. He was supposed to be the awkward and weird guy in Twilight, you know, because he's a vampire in a normal social setting :P But yeah, I thought he did a great job.

I think the show just aged into more mature violence over the years, and the show just grew into a more mature series.

I agree with you that it has matured, but it has nothing directly to do with our debate over whether Radcliffe is a good actor or not :P
Unless you're answering a previous post, but you didn't quote so I assume you're following on from my post.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to add my opinion on that, I think, personally, Daniel Redcliffe's acting is terrible and (no offence), but I really dont dig his accent either.

No offence taken, because, just to let you know, all English people don't ACTUALLY talk like that :P My accent is so, so, so, so different from his, thankfully.

Its not that its matured its more or less that this generation cant enjoy a movie if there isnt action in it that is my opinion.

Looool thats hilarious.

The books were the same way, went from young and innocent to dark and evil as the series progressed. I kinda liked how that worked out actually...

Well it's been good, as the books and movies have matured along with the original fans!

Awesome! :) I wasn't in to all that back magazine/newspaper stuff back then, and now I have my own website doing journo/critic work, wheyy! Times change.

My area of interest in Media Studies was sit-coms and advertising, both analysing and creating. :)

I've sadly seen the first and second Twilight movies because of my mother, but I thought he was just awful in them.

He speaks extremely slow, like every line. It's like he has a difficult time speaking. It could even be because he's not great at producing an American accent without thinking about it a bunch.

I don't care for uh ... whats-her-face, the actress who plays the Bella character. I think both of them lack being able to get emotion across. I really pay attention to facial expressions when people are supposed to be at a high-point of emotion. I like Daniel Radcliffe because he can be pretty convincing (for me) if he's super happy or sad or angry. For the two in Twilight, their faces generally stay the same.

I was forced into watching the Twilight movies by my Best Friend's Sister ... after watching the films my testosterone level went down. It has some action yes ... but I could have seen the plot of the movie end in 1st film, it was really that simple ... but noooooooooo bad guys have to take their sweet time in everything ... *sigh*
