who here has herd of Dungeon & Dragons/D&D..... or plays it????

i have been playing D&D for four weeks now and i quite like it i play a revenant assassin called Vengence.

My D&D Character (not the online game) is a gnome warlock that was raised by tieflings and is a worshiper of the raven queen so i play as a Dont care go with it untalkative type of guy but on the inside he sometimes has bursts of gnomish natures.

Love D&D! Havent played in ages because no one likes the new version :( There are some other really fun tabletop games Ive recently been introduced to like the Star Wars RPG, Pathfinder, The Dresden Files, Iconz.... so many more :)

I cant say I really like the newest version, but I dont completely dislike it. Basically, what they have done is simplified the whole game- which is expected, most games are like that. I mean its basically the same fun game and mechanics they've just made it so gameplay is simpler and so there isnt as much character customization. But they've also made a few good changes.... as for what char do I play? LoL I think Ive tried just about everything :D My favorite char was a ranger, although the most fun game Ive ever played has surprisingly been with a Bard :P

I've played a few D&D campaigns... it's fun, but you have to have the right group. I hate when people try to be super serious and make you act like your character... not my thing. I like having fun and being silly and doing ridiculous things :P I get that some people enjoy the roleplaying and stuff, but it's not for me.

But yeah I had a lot of fun playing; I'd love to get a good group going sometime... I don't think dili is interested though p: I bet he'd make a great DM/GM though XD I think I've only played version 3, so I can't really comment on later version.

I played a lot of rogues, and I had a druid once. Think I'd like to play more druids. They are fun :3

Ugh, getting bad groups sucks :( You're definitely right, a good group is crucial to the game. Last time I played a similar tabletop game, the group was one of the super serious groups- the rule was "No funny characters", no fun. And they'd get made if you didnt roleplay. Def gotta find a laid back group that likes to have fun :D
