Kurt Cobain Bridge Proposal Rejected | News @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/kurt_cobain_bridge_proposal_rejected.html)
They wanted to rename the bridge that Kurt Cobain sometimes slept under and based the lyrics to "Something In The Way" on, but it got denied. I'm glad, he doesn't need another memorial. I don't see why he's such a celebrated musician anyways, he's not really even a good guitarist..

Have to agree his music should be his legacy not some bridge named after him

He is another musician who made the biggest success with his death. But he is really a legend anyways, their music means much to many of us. He will be remembered with or without the bridge. It would have been nice in my opinion but we have to consider that not everyone is into rock music and bridges should be named after people who mean something to us all.

I like Nirvana, don't think Kurt needs a bridge named after him but wouldn't have cared either way.
Speaking of, this is off topic but this thread reminded me of something I saw not too long ago:

He is, and will always be a legend, and the reason he is such a celebrated musician is because he is better than most musicians your see these days, and the lyrics to this song come from his heart, unlike most musicians in our music industry nowadays, he is amazing, RIP Kurt Donald Cobain, he influenced me musically in my band.

Just plain awful...
On another note I am glad he isn't getting a bridge named after him. I never really liked Nirvana and don't understand what the fuss was about. Really the only good thing to come from Nirvana was Dave Grohl.
I remember when he died, my neighbor created a mural and took it to school with her. She was about 4 years older then I was. I thought it was quite silly then, and nothing has really changed about that.
