Halloween Costume! [Archive]

Too Early? Nah. Got a ton of other Halloween things to work on anyway!
So, this is my costume so far. It's not finished, but I'm posting it on some Halloween forums, and thought I might as well post it here. The 3 tanks are old fire extinguishers, the hoses are from a sleep-apnea machine and some flashlights, the valves are all from flea markets, there is some PVC, an old external frame backpack harness, and the rust is a product called Brutal Rust. The weathering isn't done, and it isn't close to being finished. But at least you can get an idea of what's going on.
It's a post-Apocalyptic costume, all based off the gas mask. I'll keep posting pictures as it gets worked on.

I would like to see the outcome of this seems like you got some ideas on how its going to work. are you going for a fallout costume, you didnt really make it clear.

Well I'd say I've got pretty good evidence going by this:

It's not really based off of anything, I didn't draw anything up or base it off of anything, I bought the gas mask, and I've been winging it from there xD Just been grabbing things I think would go with it, and kinda just going with it until the end.

It's not too early for Halloween, the grocery store here is putting candy and costumes on sale already o.O Canada...go figure eh?

ya go to dollorama in canada i dont know if us has it and you will find christmas stuff out allready its right next to the Halloween its crazy only those for now untill about 2 mounths then other stuff

I buy so much candy there when I go. Mr. Big for 65 cents? Yes please. But yeah I went there in February and they had a Canada Day section up, prepping for Halloween. We're nuts up here.

I dont think its legal to have legit Gas Masks, but you could probably get a replica in a costume shop or something like that.

Its legal in the US, there isn't a reason it shouldn't be. The one I have is a Russian (Soviet) GP-5 that were mass produced for the Cold War, but never used (Luckily). You can buy them online for 20 bucks. I got mine at a Halloween convention, the Midwest Haunters Convention in Columbus for 20 bucks with the bag and the filter.

Some states in the US made it illegal to sell gas masks. Not a US Law though.

I wish I could trick or treat again.

why make it illegal to have gas masks, it makes no sence. And stops many post apocalyptic costumes.

Then they would most likely supply people with the Gas Masks as long as its consensual and an emergency. Oh and I also think its illegal because if cops see someone wearing a Gas Mask acting suspicious, they'll think its a terrorist or a threat and then open fire at them, or something like that.

Thats profiling

I did a little research according to some laws its illegal because of "obstruction the due execution of law" Meaning allowing a police officer to do their job.
Another state says its illegal to hide your identity with a mask.

Also I dont think a gas mask would be very helpful if a nuke dropped radiation is deadly but a mask wont protect you from the fallout or anything else really.

That is ridiculous...a $500.00 fine for concealing your identity, what if its Halloween and you wear a mask?, utterly rediculous.. And 93 Days in prison is just to far, I'll tell you, some of the laws these days are stupid -.-
