I turned my laptop on today after getting home form school, and it sounded almost as if it was working harder? It's running at the same speed and everything is normal, it just sounds as if it's having to exert more power into working. Could something be wrong, or could it be from not using it 19hrs? It's a Dell lenovo with an i5 and i havent even had it for a 4 months.

It is possible that it needs to be cleaned, computers are dust magnets, but that could be for several reasons, also check your internal temperature.

The temp is fine, but i wouldnt doubt that it may need a cleaning. Something so simple, yet get's completely over looked.

The way you described it, it makes it sound like the vents are getting clogged, should be simple task, have fun though, it took me a day for mine to become spotless again.

What's a dell lenovo?

If it sounds like it's working harder, it probably:

1. Maybe other sounds around you got quieter
2. Fan(s) could be failing which would usually mean it's slowing down (or stuttering), the difference in sound makes it sound like it's working harder.
3. Hard drive could be spinning faster/slower than normal due to hardware or software changes/errors.
4. Wants to win your love all over again because it feels it let you down recently.

fans probably clogged so it needs to spin faster to maintain temp

use compressed air cans (co2) to blow the dust out...no vacumn cleaners

You can get compressed air at walmart or any similar store.

Ya, the vents just needed to be cleaned. And its an Inspiron made by Dell, I dont know where I got Lenovo from. The compressed air worked perfectly, 3 burst or so does the trick.
