hey so here's my Motherboard:

Asus M4A78LT-M

found here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131672R)

and I'm trying to find good RAM for this motherboard. (corsair or kingston?) So, I'm asking for help, please.

I even found this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345), and I checked the manual (of the board)-- it recommended that I install DDR3 1600+ (which I dont even understand cause there's so many out there.) thanks in advance 8)

That should be fine.

My personal favorites are OCZ but newegg doesn't seem to have any for some reason...weird.

you sure? cause I read some of the reviews about that certain RAM (corsair) and ... some people say you have to do it through the BIOS to make it from 1300 to 1600. meaning false advertisement? O_o

also, I'm planning on only using a 32-bit version of Win7, meaning it will only read 3gb's from this package. so... I'm trying to find like a low profile one, i only need like 4gbs... so.. whats a good recommendation?

Not false advertising. If it turns out to be 1300 by default, it's probably to save power. False advertising would be if you couldn't set it to 1600 at all.

And if you're gonna use 32bit win7, then don't look at this ram, look for something else. 2x2gb cars would save you money and work (almost) fully.

As for recommendations, look at this: Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS 4GB Desktop Memory Model CMX4GX3M2B1600C9 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145339)

I used to have an older version of this on my server, ran for like 5 years until it failed.

hmm. that looks interesting, but then is it compatible with AMD motherboards? thats the thing I've been hearing a lot about RAM these days... I got this AMD motherboard and .... just real confused about it. I'm thankful you're helping me Linux. I just want something that lasts. . .

what about this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233187)?

That will work too.

And RAM isn't motherboard specific, they may have features or attributes that will help in certain situations but you should be able to use the same ram on an AMD and Intel without a problem.
